Please tell me I'm not insane for this, does anyone relate to me?

I strangely have a strong nostalgia for chris' life, primarily his early life. I really dont know why, I dont know whats so appealing about sitting on your ass playing little big planet or Animal crossing.. But I guess its how simple and ignorant that life was. Not a worry in the world except for love quest, no need to get a job, or pay for anything really. Maybe I just really want to experience that early 2000's Nostalgia again but please tell me I'm not crazy.. Does anyone at all relate?

The thing with Chris is that his life essentially stayed that way. It didn’t change or progress. He changed his fashion and some of his opinions, but at the core he is the same lolcow that attracted an online following years ago.

there was also an innocence to early Chris watching - he was mostly a goofy autistic guy who drew Sonichu and wanted a girlfriend
there were red flags that his actions were really creepy, like how he treated Megan when she didn't want him to touch her, but Chris eventually becoming a sex offender wasn't on most people's radars back then

 

Yeah something about his 20's/Highschool days are so sweet, Just pure ignorant bliss wasting his life away drawing comics. Going to the mall and walking around with a task in mind which is essentially impossible, but it will always keep you motivated. He pretty much lived life like he was in a cartoon or sitcom, just a really simple life.

 

Yeah, Classic Chris was quite innocent back then in a way, even if he new about sex and adult stuff, he had very naive almost childlike view of it.

 

The FUTURE MESSAGE is a fantastic capsule of his worldview. In between his opinions on toys and how relationships are 'supposed to work', talking about not doing 'icky things' like drinking alcohol (but consuming man-seed with Fanta is OK?) and his bizarre idea of sending all the tobacco in the world to the moon.

early Chris watching forums were pretty interesting because you had people from all over the world watching and commenting on the antics of a very strange person who thought his crudely drawn comic was going to bring him fame and fortune and that all the bizarre ways he thought of to attract the attention of women would help him get a girlfriend

an autistic young man tries to navigate a world he doesn't understand with the help of pop culture and children's media

a horrifically mentally ill man thinks he's a deity and thinks God gave him permission to have sex with his mother
really terrible stuff

 

Ironically he became a "window to hell" - which he claimed other severely intellectually impaired people are.

That's the main purpose he serves as far as I'm concerned. Just to tell yourself 'I'm no saint, but at least I'm not Chris'.

 

OP: If you mean that you miss the old days of Chris Chan, I think that's a very common sentiment. But your post is phrased a bit strangely, as if you are saying that you feel nostalgic for Chris' life itself rather than the period of your life when you enjoyed Classic Chris.

 

Personally, I enjoyed when the CWCki was full of articles and lore that was fresh to me, and when the community for following this guy was smaller and more fun (before it morphed into Kiwi Farms). And yeah, as @ICanFeelTheCosmos0704 wrote, when it was about a young autistic man trying to navigate a world he doesn't understand, rather than a middle-aged autistic transwoman whose brain had been broken by sadistic "trolls."

 

Unless you had a dark childhood I think every person in the world looks fondly upon that era of their life. Personally? I cherish the memories I have of riding the bus home from middle school so I could catch Toonami and watch a couple of hours of anime with a bag of chips at my side. Those were good times, carefree times. As long as I did my homework I had nothing to worry about. Hanging out at the mall, spending the weekend at a friend's place playing Sega literally all day, just living for the day and not even realizing it.

But eventually you grow up. Responsibilities come. College life, graduation, a career. Possibly even a family. It's easy to feel overwhelmed as an adult and yearn to go back to that era of your life where things were simpler. But it's a double-edged blade because in Chris' case his life is one of sloth and gluttony. He toils away on a comic that the world at large laughs at and buries himself in Animal Crossing because it's an idealized world where he's the center of attention and his whims and needs are catered to. He gives nothing to the world and when he sheds his mortal coil he will have left a legacy of nothing behind him.

And yeah, paradise to that bonehead is to be a very lazy monarch who is fed grapes by "electric hedgehog" servants - and hideous "yiffing". "Friendship" to him is unquestioning servitude and copious ass kissing.
