    My dude, if Christory has taught me anything it's that you should never dismiss Chris's ability to dodge the consequences he SHOULD get for some of his actions. I don't think this type of defense will succeed, but I don't completely rule it out either.

    You make a good point. Chris has gotten in trouble with the law several times and never really had any long lasting punishment for any of it. Even intentionally trying to harm/kill a man with a car he barely got a slap on the wrist for.

    Most of this stuff we don't know for sure. We know he was 'transferred' out of his previous jail because it was an official statement. The stuff about him being in a psych ward, or Barb throwing his stuff out because she was 'triggered' by it just feels like Kiwi gossip at this point. I'd take it with a large pinch of salt.

    You have to wonder. I'm not surprised it's taking so long considering what a heavily documented person Chris is. Even OJ Simpson's trial didn't take this long before it started.

    Insofar as "normal people" are criminally prosecuted, I would think most of them would want any proceedings over and done with as soon as possible by any means necessary. As much as Chris might want out of jail, I've no doubt Heilberg is pulling more than his share of the weight owing to his client's terminal indifference to adulting.
