Chris lingers on Issue 8 then continues on seting down two copies of the comics Issue 8 knowing Chris the second one is the censored version in case you happen to be the "target" demographic for Chris's comic. At the end after almost forgetting 12-9 Chris holds up the IG comic and pauses then says "bonus"
Chris goes on to shill his cards and Sonichu figurines.
Rambles on not saying anything of substance except for accidentally(?) revealing the sweetheart search was going well, something people already know about. At one point Chris tells the audience to drink water.

I guess we do get a few glimpses of Chris's room in the reflection on the play button not really too much except he's using a webcam as a camera, theirs a glare on the left side of his green screen from the light behind the computer.

 

Amazing how many up and coming YouTubers who are legit have been getting snubbed for these lately, yet the actual motherfucker can still get a play button.

Truly the bar is never too low to get a YouTube play button, unless you're still in prison. Even then, that's probably only due to the lack of a valid mailing address.

 

Why wouldn't he? He has the subs, therefore, he gets a button. It's a statistic and it's likely automated and an intern is then told to send that shit out. People at YouTube aren't scouring the internet whenever some rando (in their eyes) hits 100K subs.

Just because we know who Chris is and what he did doesn't mean that some overworked and underpaid Alphabet employee out in California is aware of something that was on the local news on the other side of the country in Ruckersville, VA. And the only reason why Chris would be a blip on anyone's radar nationally is because the incident was mentioned on Tucker Carlson for like 30 seconds that one time.

It's a silver play button, not a Nobel Prize.

 

True, you make a good point there. Plus it's not like they do background checks on people who get sent these plaques, like it's some sort of job application or security clearance.

Romeo Lacoste got a gold YouTube play button, albeit before we knew what he did, but he infamously had to give it up when he got counter sued in a slap suit by Keemstar, after Romeo lost a defamation case to him. Not gonna go into who that guy is or what he did, other than he was a famous tattoo artist and YouTuber who got exposed for committing a series of horrific sex crimes against minors for years.

That's only worth bringing up because it shows there's actually a precedent for this sort of thing. There's probably plenty of other cases of similarly horrible people who got YouTube play buttons, maybe even after being exposed, that I just didn't pay attention to and hear about. I bet the significance of this will be to Chris is a temporary boost to his ego. Like he has with any other trophy and contest victory he's gotten.

 

It’s kinda fun to see Chris winning something. For better or worse he is a kind of celebrity.

 

If I had to use a term for it other than the commonly accepted long time one of "lolcow" or derivatives like "horrorcow", I think it would be "anti-celebrity".

 

Would a celebrity lolcow be a boring person if celebrity and anti-celebrity cancel out?

I seem to remember he had about half that before he was arrested.

It's weird that in the year of our GodBear 2024, when 'sagas' have been over for a while, Chris might actually be getting an unironic fanbase.
OK, maybe not. But the channel growth is still weird.

 

That may be possible, I have sadly ran into people who think he's just an autistic transgirl content creator who was unfairly cyber bullied despite a list of evidence to the contrary.

No one cares about reality, just "the story"
