That has an easy answer

What Chris did, due to Barb's lack of wounds and the dubious consent involved, was not legally rape, just "Misdemeanor Sex w/ Own Child" (Barb is the parent, not the child, I know, but that's the name of the charge), despite the name of the charge it is indeed a felony.

However it carries a one year sentence and no sex registry requirements.

The charges were dropped because it carries a one year sentence, but he spent TWO YEARS waiting for trial, it would have only been a few weeks, but Chris needed so much testing to prove competent to stand trial that by the time he did he already spent TWICE AS LONG as his sentence would have been for... They just dropped it, why? Trying a case is expensive and time consuming, but if found guilty, Chris had already technically served twice the sentence and would have been let go upon a guilty verdict. No sense in charging someone if they won't actually get punished for it...

It's not unlikely he was actually financially compensated due to how long he spent awaiting trial. (Especially since apparently he has his own house in Lynchburg? (I'm not sure what his living situation is) That isn't cheap and as someone who has SSI AND a job and still has to live with family to get by.... I can tell ya that. I don't exactly work at McDonald's either, pretty prestigious company actually, but I won't say which to avoid self-doxing

The only reason Chris hasn't tried to pull a Steamed Hams in real life is because he's too lazy to go through a plan like that, he would definitely burn his own house down in the process if he did. He'd likely scream at the other party for questioning his cooking, completely ruining the point of trying to save face in the first place.

 

A little worse actually, as the biggest thing I was afraid of has been Chris getting kicked out of his home and living with someone who thinks they can make money off of him.. and regretting it completely.

 

Everyone who predicted that weens would house that lolcow were right.

 

I will admit If I were in the position to house , chris and he absolutely had nowhere else to go period that would give him room and board but I would watch him closely as I pretty much expect him to be a thief and to abuse the facilities.

I see it lasting a week before I pawn him off to a ween....

 

I know Rocky Shoemaker said she thought Chris should live in a group home, back when the Idea Guys still had their hooks in him. For a church councilor who wasn't a qualified professional, I think she was right.

 

That late into "The Tale of Fail"? I thought Rocky stopped being involved in that by the early 2010s?

 

If the CWCki is to be believed, then apparently she didn't stop communicating with Chris and Barb until shortly before the Jail Saga. Old posts on this very forum from 2018 brought up that she stated that, which is what prompted me to look into it.

 

That is just beyond pathetic, even by ween standards. He must have a really empty life for it to end like this.

 

Either the protectorate order they had placed on them is still in effect which is the reason they havent returned or someone, somehow explained to chris what would happen to them by the local community if they attempted to return

 

I don't think the local community would even care, the small town where "Everybody knows everybody" is an anachronism that doesn't exist outside of Hollywood.

Edit: As someone who lives in a small town yet knows pretty much none of her neighbors, I blame the stranger danger campaigns of the 80's and 90's
