YouTube YT 8/13 - Hasbro! MLP G4 Must Continue; NO MLP G5!

My Little Pony has been around since the 1980s, as long as Chris has been alive. The show is also successful, and successful kid shows can last forever (Spongebob Squarepants is old enough to vote.) G5 airs in 2020 and I expect 5 or 6 years of that. As long as society keeps making little girls and weird grown men that want pony toys, they’re be a G6, and 7, and 8, and so on. I see MLP as the next Sesame Street, it’s going to go on forever.
Chris can protest G5 all he wants, but like I said in the previous comment, he protested Equestria Girls as well. He’ll watch G5 religiously, then complain about G6.
By the time My Little Pony ends completely, Chris will most likely lose interest or be dead.

 

the only way chris will get out of MLP is if something else becomes as popular or otherwise grabs his autistic focus.

Speaking of autism and cartoons, I'm still surprised he never got obsessed with Steven universe.

Is Chris the only brony freaking out over this? I think Hasbros rationale is this MLP series has run its course and they need to revamp it for a new group of 7 year old girls. Which makes sense for any *KIDS* cartoon series. They’re not thinking about the 30 year old men, which is good. It is fun to see Chris get so upset over something so trivial and try in vain to get what he wants.

 

Chris may have severe brain damage by now, and Idea Guy certainly didn't help.

 

The ones at the top are the current ones in Gen 4 that chris loves so super duper much.
The middle ones are the... um, promotional art? The first draft drawn up, and the bottom ones are the final product that'll appear in gen 5.

Methinks we'll have another huge spergout along the lines of sonic's arms aren't blue, but Null and the nanny squad will talk him down.

 

If the bottom is supposed to be Gen 5, Chris is probably going to ree but buy the toys anyway while the fandom draws in an even wierder audience by going even more animesque.

I could only read about 2 sentences before it devolves into incomprehensible fucking nonsense about dimensions and shit.

Actutally, reading this reminds me of Anthony Bault, who makes fanfiction based on Captain N: The Gamemaster and tries to tie every series together with him as the Self Insert mary sue... but the difference between Anthony and Chris is that Anthony's self aware and not an autistic shut in.

In addition to his alternate dimensions/sister universe bullshit, Chris also ties in a lot of his happier moments in the past few years with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. His two trips to BronyCon are probably the closest he's come to in his adult life to recapturing the feeling of being accepted that he had with his gal pals in high school (even though he eventually found out they were merely tolerating him). Now he's faced not only with BronyCon ending next year, but this new generation of MLP supplanting the one that has consumed so much of his time and attention. Just look at how extensively he's integrated MLP into Sonichu and into his real life, wearing a goddamn unicorn horn into church.

 

YEAH, BLOODY, RIGHT.

 

It's like a stereotypical nerd way too obsessed with Star Trek, but with a horse cartoon intended for little girls.
