Least favorite Chris moment

Bob had recently passed away, so I think that's why CWC was pretty much "radio silent" then.

Someone observed that Bob kept Charb from going off the deep end, because just after he passed away, one can see "Christory" as it's been since then. Like the Snyder incident Charb got into.

 

Chris was able to function until we started getting the love quest which at least would start with Chris' being annoying to employees and customers via the attraction sign. Never forget the mall, Walmart, and Target that dealt with the attraction sign.

 

Chris started the "Love Quest" relatively soon after he was ejected from an English class on his 21st birthday. From the perspective of 2022, that's soon after he graduated from Manchester. So one could say that after Manchester is when the Life of Fail really started to go off the rail.

 

Of course it would. Once Chris' "perfect world" of high school ended, it's where the journey to Hell begins. All with a single step in doing the love quest that would eventually make rounds on Something Awful and eventually the rest of the internet.

 

I guess the million C-quarter question is which had more of an impact on him: Sonichu or the Love Quest? It's difficult to imagine him without both.

Take away the Love Quest and he's just an unremarkable DeviantArt shitposter.
Take away Sonichu and he's just your typical NEET incel.

The combination of the two is what led us to 'Jail of Fail Chris'.

Maybe Chris "just winning" the sweepstakes and "The Bear" led to an ego boost, which led to both the "Love Quest" and inventing "Sonichu", which combined to lead to "Jail of Fail Chris"?

 

The Love Quest made Chris vulnerable to trolling and catfishing. Without it he’d just be an autistic who makes weird cartoons like Dobson.

 

This is an excellent point. The two have a very symbiotic relationship. Honestly, I think this warrants it's own thread: What would the Love Quest be without Sonichu and what would Sonichu be without the Love Quest?

 

Sonichu without the Love Quest could of taken a different direction in being more on the Sonic OC. Otherwise, Chris would use IRL events still, just not with a love quest. If Chris still were to meet Megan, one could already imagine the comic taking a creepier turn. A Love Quest without Sonichu would likely just have Chris weirding out Mary Lee Walsh in some other way and likely just having the attraction signs and cards not bear the electric hedgehog Pokemon. Could still have shit go south, just without the Sonichu comics being involved.

 

Like I said, sweepstakes.

How different would Chris' ego be had he lost the sweepstakes - which was far more realistic than him winning?

 

But would the weirdness just be generic weirdness? That's why the question is a good one. Because of Chris's obsession with his own "creation", his weirdness has a special, unique branding to it. Sonichu manages to seep into everything Chris does.

I agree that, without a Love Quest, Sonichu would just delve more into being Sonic OC. But once again, how run-of-the-mill would that be? When the comic was just his OC fighting Sonic and PokeMon villains (for the brief amount of time it was just that), it was boring. The comic didn't get entertaining until jerkops and Mary Lee Walsh started interfering in the Love Quest.

 

I guess the real cause of the "Life of Fail" could be when a drunken Barb chased Bob down a hall at a bar.

But seriously, it seems it was a "perfect storm" of Borb, Chris being older Millennial, and extreme autism. And of course the top 3 trolls: bent duck, stupidity, and ego.

The sweepstakes, "The Bear", and that CD cover project at least helped to push it along.

 

One moment that sticks with me was when chris accused the firefighter's that came to 14BLC when it burned of stealing stuff.

Even in the midst of a tragedy chris will find ways of being a prick.

 

I think that could be a combination of ego and how Chris feels powerless IRL. Especially in the Jail of Fail.

 

The hosts of Trash Taste nailed it when they said it: everytime you're getting close to rooting for Chris, he does something shitty that makes you dislike him again.
