Star Trek

The only good Trek since DS9 is The Orville, which is 100% canonical Star Trek as far as I'm concerned.

 

How has that been doing lately?

 

I don't watch it but my parents love it. They are ones who got me into ST fwiw.

Yea it's a legit sci fi while also being a parody. Aside me being grumpy old me, I've heard it's better sci fi than most things out and funnier than most sit coms.

I will say again, I don't think it's my jam so I haven't tried. But people who are into sci fi, or into seth like it. It's probably better than family guy, and star trek ATM.

 

I think it's more of a legit scifi with comedy in it than a straight up parody.

It's kind of like Futurama, but more "serious."

 

Anyone here watch Star Trek fan series? I enjoyed New Voyages/Phase II, and I saw an episode of Star Trek Continues where the crew get transported back in time to the American Civil War that was legitimately as good as professional Trek.

It seems like the whole Axanar debacle ruined all this though since it prompted CBS to place severe limitations going forward.

 

I remember seeing a followup they made to Who Mourns For Adonais. It was OK. Just as good as a canon episode.

 

If Jeri Ryan started selling her panties how much do you think trekkies would pay?

 

headcanon idea: Star Trek is in the early Dark Age of Technology.

Trick question: there aren't any trekkies left?

 

I seriously doubt they're going anywhere any time soon. They're just waiting for a decent show.

Good. I'm a Romulan fanboy so loving it. All the Matrix-ish kung fu is pretty weird though.

He’s mentioned once offhandedly (well, the Q Continuum is) so far, but I don’t think he’s in it.
