9/26 - Quinn breaks up with Chris

Looks like another relationship status change is incoming.

 

Now that’s honesty!

 

The eight steps of cult indoctrination:
1. Invitation to a non-threatening event
Friended on Facebook / "It's Complicated With"
2. Love-bombing
Showering Chris with affection
3. Dangling "The Prize" in front of you
The prize: dat puss
4. Extracting an agreement from you that you want the prize
Time and time again Chris has fallen for trolls on the single assumption that he'd laid. The moment I feel Chris embodies the forth step is when he says JQ is Lovely Weather; he means to say he's in it for the long game
5. Shutting down your dissent by threatening to withhold the prize
At this point the cult is getting the target to do harder things, things the target might not want to do; in order combat this the cult threats to withhold that prize. Here we see JQ's passive aggressive behavior whenever Chris is getting a little too stalk-y. More recently we see her breaking up with him for 5 hours presumably because Chris had that alt account.
6. Establishment of guilt
Here the target is in the door, so to speak, so now the cult needs to shape the way the target thinks; to do this the cult makes the target feel guilty about not being fully committed to the cult. A large portion of this happening behind the scenes in private chat no doubt but we are seeing the effects; Chris agrees to unsubscribe to lazycast for example, he would never do this without being conditioned. Another large part of this step is shaming the target and we see this a little here and there but I have no doubt it's happening in IM chat given Chris' tendency to be "true and honest" with anyone he feel even a little secure with.
7. Carrot and the stick
"Behavior is reinforced by rewarding 'good' behavior and punishing 'bad' behavior." Chris unsubscribes from lazycast, JQ pats him on the head; Chris subverts being blocked on twitter and tweets screen caps of girls he's staking, BAD DOG! JQ cuts ties ;Chris apologies and possibly shuts down his alt alt account, JQ comes back to Chris. We'll likely see more examples of this going forward. [WHERE WE ARE NOW]
8. Control of identity, information, environment
This is the scariest part of any cult, this is where we see the classic isolation from friends and family, getting the target to move to a different place, controlling resources, controlling schedules, controlling thoughts, control, control, control. We see glimpses of this but this part has yet to happen... yet... October 6th

 

Chris should look on the bright side. Think of how many episodes of the podcast he'll have to catch up on once the breakup is permanent.

 

On the one hand, it's good to see that Chris has *some* self-respect and is admitting that the decision to stop listening to the Lazycast was not his own.

On the other hand, if JQ was willing to drop him like yesterday's garbage over this, why would he open himself up to another possible dumping?

 

It would be kinda sad, but also not surprising, at this point, if Chris decided he'd rather let himself get browbeaten by a girl who claims is willing to be his girlfriend if it meant the faint possibility she'll have sex with him maybe....

 

So lazycast is some kinda anime lover podcast? 5 minutes listening to that shit would probably make me headbutt the wall.

 

I'm gonna assume most of Chris' fascination with the show was because Doopie was on it.

 

Ya dun fucked up again Chris.

 

I feel like we'll be seeing these words again...

 

I'm curious as to how Chris is gonna backpedal/talk his way out of saying "I'm doing this against my will"...

OK everyone, back to what you were doing, chris was just attention whoring again

 

Theatrics. Pure theatrics. JQ is trying to weave some sort of soap opera out of this. As the past has shown, the best sagas come completely unscripted. I bet she'll do something on Oct 6th to get a response out of him, good or bad.

 

The theory that popped up before this whole "break-up/make-up" situation was that weens were going to charge in and disrupt their date. Honestly, it wouldn't shock me if JQ decided to incorporate that into another "theatrical breakup" with Chris, as in "LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE CHRIS! THESE HORRIBLE WEENS FOLLOWED US HERE, AND IT'S PROBABLY YOUR FAULT! I DUMP YOU!"

 

Now I have to wonder if JQ is
1) a troll tugging Chris around because she wants to manufacture a saga, because she wants the satisfaction of being the centerpiece of a saga, and/or because she wants to hurt Chris emotionally
OR
2) not doing this as a troll trying to clamber to clamber to gross stardom, but just as someone who enjoys the feeling of controlling somebody and has singled out Chris because of the bountiful evidence of his being easily manipulable (possibly because she's too hamfisted to manipulate most other people)
OR
3) some other fucking thing

 

This is what's making this particular series of events kinda interesting. JQ is straddling that line between "troll" and "crazy as balls chick". It seems like just when you think you've got her motivations pinned down, she pulls a plot twist.

 

Either way she's a fucking nutcase.

 

Same thing when you're trolling Chris. You have to make things really really simple and plain or he'll just derp out on you.

 

Yeah. Like, it was funny to see Chris yell about how he should have won a contest. It's funny to see him be really, really incompetent about writing his dumb Crayola marker webcomic.
Watching a manipulative creep with hell eyebrows make Chris cry despondently and beg forgiveness is genuinely discomforting.
