When Chris is “sad,” he still has SOMETHING to be sad about, like losing Kacey or Blanca. I don’t think Chris is capable of faking sadness with nothing at all.
Another reason I think JQ is real, and it’s kinda scary if she really is. Like, is Chris really not allowed to listen a podcast because it has a girl he liked on it (a girl who is on the other side of the country btw), that’s insanity. Chris couldn’t just not listen, he had to publicly admit he stopped. JQ is possessive and controlling almost to the point of emotional abuse, and Chris’ self-esteem is so ass he’s going to allow it to avoid being alone. He’s in a relationship for the sake of a relationship and that’s not good.
When this went down I was like OK, JQ’s an alright white knight, maybe she’ll actually help Chris. After this shit though, I’m leaning towards she’s not mentally all there either.

Know what would be amazingly epic is if Hirtes decided he didn't want Chris to be happy, so he turns his attention towards harassing Quinn. And they effectively take each other out in a self-destructive spiral of insanity.

No, that won't work. Chris is a man with goals. If he's to bring into the world the daughter that God and the bear promised unto him--Crystal Chandler--then he can't mess up this one golden opportunity he has. If Chris doesn't bareback JQ in the movie theater, or, more appropriately, the McDonalds parking lot afterwards, then he may blow the one and only opportunity he has to fulfill the will of our Lord.
