Was it that bad? If yes, what went wrong?

Yes it was bad however I've only seen the film in bits and pieces. I can already say the acting is shit though.

I'm going to say it again here:
Rogue One was a better Suicide Squad then Suicide Squad was.

Last decade, DC and Warner Brothers made three times a killing on grim and anxious superhero movies. These days, that approach doesn't seem to work as well, but they haven't adapted to that yet.

I heard the editing is fucking atrocious. Didn't a trailer studio make the final cut?

This does a good job of explaining some of the problems with editing.

Haven't seen it yet, but I really hate when they smash teams together of this many characters. Guardians of the Galaxy did it decently but characters suffer in all comic movies from lack of screen time and development.

  11. ... I liked it.

Mainly because it was the stupid kind of fun and didn't have the complete edgy/grimdark feel that DC movies have had trouble breaking away from. The costumes still suffered from that (the freaking comics have always looked like a teenage mall goth's wet dream), but otherwise the film didn't seem to take itself too seriously which gave me some hope for the future. DC still needs to throw Zack Snyder in the dumpster out back, however.

it mitigates being dark by throwing in terrible jokes and having an 80s song play because it wants to be a clone of guardians of the galaxy. The tone wasn't the issue with BvS and MoS, it's that they're shit. suicide squad fails to fix this issue

  14. I'm going to stick by the argument that "the stupid kind of fun that gave me good feels" is leagues better than sitting in the theater during MoS and going "holy shit, is it over yet? Why does it keep going? Please end, why is the fucking dog's life so goddamn important?"

Still, I'm not going to fault anyone for not liking it, because I do see all the reasons why someone wouldn't like it. There are things that pissed me off about the movie too, but I legit had fun when my friend and I saw it.

I was browsing the other site a month ago while my girlfriend was watching this and just listening to the audio track as background noise was enough to annoy me with the way it was structured/acted/paced, the whole nine.

Having to endure watching this thing is beyond my comprehension but it's highly regarded in the lolcow population by OPL and others like Kentray Brown so apparently I'm correct in my estimation that it's liquefied stool despite not actually having 'seen' the thing.

I just saw it the other day, it really is garbage appealing to the lowest common denominator. If you just fucking hate the art of film making (or just don't know a thing about it), you'll probably like Suicide Squad. Out of personal experience, it works as a litmus test to weed out the people you shouldn't associate with. Just ask 'em.

Also, it's got pretty colors (and Margo Robbie) so of course OPL likes it.

I can see Viola Davis winning Best Actress this Oscar go-around, as solace for having starred in Suicide Squad.

(Though she's pretty much the best part of the whole movie. She made one-note cold-blooded stoicism interesting, which speaks as much of her talent as it does SS's limitations.)

  20. lol calm down. You sound like an angry YouTuber REEEEEEEEE-ing over the new Ghostbusters.
