nah it wasn't terrible, the main problems I had with the movie were with how badly it was put together, but that's not Ayer's fault. I get brutal sometimes lol I swear I'm calm

It wasn't terrible, but I will probably never watch it again. Although Jared Leto as the Joker was interesting, he was only in the movie for a little bit. Apparently they cut a lot of his footage out, which amazes me, because the movie is already more than 2 and a half hours long. How much more footage did they film and why? Production must've been a mess.

 

Because Zack Snyder doesn't understand how to condense comic book plotlines into a reasonable movie length format. This is a constant problem with every adaptation he has a hand in. The Director's Cut of Watchmen is somewhere in the range of four hours long and that's not counting the animated side-film about the symbolic castaway subplot.

I hope Margot Robbie punches him in the face if he tries to pull this shit when they're making the Gotham City Sirens film.

 

I can't say the movie is still fresh in my memory, but I definitely remember hating every second of Suicide Squad. The only good thing about it was that now you can make jokes about Batman killing Joker when you watch American Psycho.

 

I actually rather enjoyed it, though I was half drunk.

 

I wonder if there's going to be any Suicide Squad winning an Oscar salt (took home best hair & makeup... in a category with 2 other films, Star Trek Beyond and the Swedish entry).

 

I was thinking from Suicide Squad's massive hatedom as opposed from SJWs.

 

Suicide Squad had one good thing in it:

The man who can climb anything

 

Also fyi, Suicide Squad didn't win any awards in the Razzies and most of the winners for the awards are from Batman vs Superman and Hillary's Movie.

It also won an Oscar for the DCEU before the MCU got one. That's gotten people pretty mad, especially since Doctor Strange was up for Best Visual Effects and lost to the Jungle Book.

 

Never underestimate comic fans' ability to REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE at literally everything.

I watched SS last night with my brother and we both found it really boring.

 

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how they cut enough footage of the joker to make its own movie. I think the biggest issue with this movie is that they had all these interesting characters and didn't really know what to do with them.

 

If they cut enough footage to make an entire movie with Joker alone, I don't think that could be seen as a good thing. It basically means that the project was horribly unfocused and incredibly wasteful. So, we might have gotten an hour or two of Joker scenes, but that could mean that we got a bunch of random flashback scenes featuring Joker, random scenes of him being 'edgy' and random romance scenes between him and Harley. Basically, whatever scene that the guys making/funding the movie thought would make people like it, or (probably more accurately) scenes they could use to promote it.

To use your avatar to make an example, imagine if every episode of MLP had 20 minutes of animation that wasn't used. Yes, the fans would probably say that all the extra unused footage is a good thing, but it actually means that the animation and writing teams are incredibly unfocused, and incredibly wasteful, which isn't actually a good thing at all.
