    The medallion is photoshopped everything else is real.
    I’ve had the sense for a while that Kanye is just Chris if he actually put effort into something. His personality is very lolcow-ish including taking media stereotypes at face value (he saw 21 Jump Street and immediately decided he likes Jews again).

    You could be right in that tbh. Chris has never been conventionally "taught" how to draw by any professional means, nor has he ever really practiced in any way that could improve his ability. Unfortunately for us, Chris's art still looks like shit, outsider or not.

    Compare him to Henry Darger. Also a self-taught artist but he put WAY more effort in than Chris ever has.

    That passage also claimed satire is the art that's usually "immortal", so I didn't take it too seriously.

    Henry Darger drew surprisingly little of his own stuff, he usually just copied or traced existing artwork to create "new" pieces with a different context. That being said, it still came out looking far nicer then anything Chris has done.
    I know an Outsider artist who never went to art school who re-decorated her entire wall to look like a roman mural because some of the plasterboard fell off her wall, exposing the brickwork behind, thinking she could hide the bricks with yet more drawn bricks. I think things like that give the title of "outsider artist" far more meaning then Chris's fucking crayola model magic.

    The problem is he doesn't spend enough time on it. If he just practiced every day he would do way better. He eventually decided drawing the comic was just too much stress and crashed into slumber/vidja - which is why his art style has not improved in two decades.

    His use of poor-quality materials to save tugboat doesn't help matters.

    Good art can still be made with cheap stuff, like really good art done with the common crayon. What can hold back having good artistic skill is using a very autistic pen grip - aside from lack of motivation of course.

    Yeah he also believed that markers and colored pencils and stuff is better and more authentic than a drawing tablet and a drawing tablet isn’t “real” art

    The view that traditional media is always better or more real than digital isn't unique to a certain intellectually challenged egotistical lolcow.

    And of course the idea that digital art can never be "real" art is rather "exceptional" and elitist.
