Assigned Male is a webcomic known for its bad writing, Mary-Sue characters and consistent strawmanning. It follows the life of a transgirl going by the name Stephie. It has gained infamy due to Stephie's unlikable personality and lack of character outside of being trans.

Kids that age have no bussiness calling themselves trans.
Even though, even if you ignore that fact this webcomic is absolutely fucking terrible.

 

My friend told me today that she's writing an 8000 word university level assignment about gender and is using Assigned Male as one of her more prominent sources. I want to cry.

He wants over $15,000 to scribble something he can do in like 20 minutes? I'm not surprised but disappointed. Has he done Kickstarters before?

 

I can only read about three pages before my brain turns off. EVERY SINGLE PLOT POINT AND DIALOGUE IS ABOUT BEING TRANS.

Get a new bloody topic.

 

To be fair, Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes uses a college-level vocabulary. But huge differences are that Calvin doesn't talk non-stop about identity politics, and Calvin and Hobbes is widely considered a masterpiece.

Well, the moral of AM is basically that cis men are evil, so it's not that much of a stretch...
