Bing doesn't know a thing about Vinesauce.

I do find it weird how often A.I art shifts to food/eating

What about "Robot Pirate Island" (mentioned in that SpongeBob episode)?

Had this been made on some A.I. art generator like Bing, I could imagine this getting blocked because it might look inappropriate. That said, the image also raises questions on one's diet.

Looking back at the first few pages of this thread from 2022 and the most recent images, one can see how much more developed AI art has gotten. But it still usually has a surreal-ish feel.

Yeah, and this was before all of the controversy in regards to plagiarism and stuff went in full swing.

I still like using it for shitposting and creating characters for tabletop rpgs for when I am too lazy to draw my own character tokens.

Same. AI art is good for a shitpost and for a very lazy attempt in getting a "look" for a character. Otherwise, it ends up being scummy when one knows what ethical problems come in. I am laughing my ass off at AI art though in knowing what Deviant Art is doing with AI generated images. For only 5 bucks minimum, one could "adopt" some AI generated drawing. That alone makes me WAT since one is giving 5 to 15 dollars for an AI generated image. More so when seeing someone actually paying money for that.

Yeah, the fact that people are paying people for an AI generated drawing is also just very "wat" to me since I could have just typed the prompt in myself. I follow this crocheter named Toni Lipsey and she recently had a controversy involving using AI to make her logo for her new paid community she launched recently. A lot of creative types do no like AI being used. I think Lion Brand once used an AI crochet image on their Instagram and got a lot of flack for it because they could have just used an image of real crochet from a real crocheter, especially since the whole point of having social media as a company is to promote your product, why couldn't they just showcase someone using their yarn creatively and if there is a pattern to it, link it so other people can make the thing and hopefully buy more of their yarn to make said thing. Posting AI images really add nothing to their company's social media, especially if they are a creative company all based on arts and crafts.

With those crocheters you use as an example, I can really get behind the creative types being pissed since as you said, they could of used a real crochet since it's also promoting a product. They could of literally just recorded their own employees making shit and then asking "hey can we use your work in our Instagram?" rather than paying a company or whatever for some AI made image.

Shit's not just a lazy shortcut but a dumb one as well for a company that really does have to rely on something from hand-made creativity. And also on the part of people paying for an AI generated drawing I should of also mentioned this: AI images under US law are public domain so selling them would be illegal. DeviantArt doing this with adoptables just makes me think it's all the more some money laundering scheme.

Agreed, AI Art really does have that ugly and worthless feel to it a lot of the time. Especially worse is how @Minimal Effort left here forever because he posted some ugly waifu-bait from an early generator.

I know I mentioned this somewhere before on this site but even the nicest looking image isn't going to be anywhere as good in creativity as a drawing made by a bored employee in the break room. For all some AI bro could say in "IT'S THE FUTURE!!!!" and all that, AI art is pretty much mass-produced jpegs just like how McDonald burgers are mass-produced patties. They might be good but their quality isn't high tier and one could get better even from just trying to make one on their own. I know some AI bro can say "well you draw worse than Chris-Chan" but even then, one can still make an attempt that has more of its own standing than janky image from an AI generator.

There was a video I have been meaning to watch by Adam of Adam Ruins Everything on his personal Youtube channel about AI and how it tries to solve problems that are easier to solve if you just used a human. I have been meaning to watch it since he is very informative and his videos and show are well-researched, but I sort of forgot about it until now, maybe I should watch it before I forget

Like someone said, AI can be "good" at horror. And for surrealism, seeing how it seems to always feel surreal.

Nice to see him ruin AI. Since I'm about to look that up, I hope he at least points out that AI as far as we have right now is nowhere near what was envisioned by writers and Hollywood, being more of just someone's coding on a webpage rather than some sapient or self-intelligent machine like Skynet or SHODAN.
*Edit: even better, he just calls it out as tech bro shit.
That's likely the best thing it has going for it. Not horror exactly but just more of surrealism if a computer had some kind of means to do it. Granted, any "quality" surrealism from AI would have to be more from someone just messing around on a AI art generator until something looked surreal enough.

Even the best AI-generated art still has this "off" feel to me, which NI*-generated art lacks.
