I wasn’t sure if this deserved its own thread, I decided it did because it’s the true source of Chris’s powers, mods can lock it if I’m wrong.

Does Chris no longer care about this ring but realizes its importance to Christorians? Is Chris this desperate for money? Is $10,000 a bit much?

He flip-flopped on how he gets his powers.

 

First the Sanic Totem, then the Classic and now this. Makes me wonder when he'll be selling off his Sonichu binders.

 

Wow! Either his new fake girlfriends have an absurdly strong hold of him or he's incredibly desperate.

 

Without going into full autism mode about what the actual numbers might be, I think we have more than adequate evidence that Chris and Barb are both horribly irresponsible with their spending. Without Chris working, their situation would be just barely tenable, but it's not one that allows for Pokemon Cards and Lego and vidya to be purchased willy nilly. We have also seen clear evidence they don't budget or plan for regular expenses whatsoever.

I've lived at that income level (though from my shitty retail job not from public welfare) and you can make it but you agonize over every single dollar... if you're smart. But they're not smart, if anything Chris is clearly getting more extravagant with his overspending. And at that income level, it doesn't take much to ruin yourself. The point being, every little thing is going to contribute to a financial death spiral because their behaviors aren't changing.

See I used to be like this, so I get to talk shit here. Chris thinks as long as he "makes the payments" i.e. staves off the inevitable, he can do it indefinitely. The problem is, life doesn't work like that. Things break, shit happens that you didn't plan for. If all your income is tied up in servicing debt and you just keep borrowing or relying on suckers to give you one time cash infusions to temporarily solve a permanent problem, every little episode is going to keep building and building and building until you just collapse financially. The longer you try to delay the problem, the worse the problem is when it finally comes crashing down , doesn't matter whether it's personal debt or a pyramid scheme.

It will probably take a very long time, I would normally say, but the fact Barb has actually been successfully sued is astonishing. You have to fuck up real bad to actually get sued by a creditor. They are on the brink and it's not going to get better. He is going to feel the pinch harder and harder.

Seeing Chris' irresponsible spending makes me happy that my parents didn't have too much disposable income when I was a kid and taught me financial responsibility. To me (and almost everyone else, I imagine), the Chandler's spending habits are just absurd

 

Now comes the question if someone out there is so desperate for christorical objects that they're willing to part with 10 grand. the sonic totem went, why not this?

 

Chris would rather sell a prized Relic of Fail than get a job.

 

Assuming Chris even understands that symbol at all!

 

Will Chris eventually attempt to sell his Sonichu Trademark?
Because I would love to be the proud owner of everyone's favorite electric hedgehog pokemon.

 

The more Chris changes as a person, the more of his old self he sells on ebay.

I think Chris might be the only person who gives a shit about their high school class ring. I like how he started it at 10 grand now it’s $1,000. He also took all the autographs off the toys, like they weren’t dirty enough before now he used who knows what to “clean” ink off them.

 

I wish I had screenshotted it, but before the ring was listed at 10,000 it WAS 1,000.

 

Chris would likely trade sell his soul for Pogs LEGOs if he could.

 

Weens bought the totem for 1k, seems like a sure thing the ring will go for at least that amount.
