    I think I'm starting to understand what's going on here. The reason for a grand jury is so they can decide what to charge Chris with. As far as I can tell he was booked into jail a year ago on 'incest': no further charges applied. However, they may decide based on what the grand jury says that he should be charged with something else.

    he might end up homeless without a tugboat when he gets out of prison (if he's charged and convicted of rape he's in deep trouble)

    it takes time for cases to work through the court system - IANAL but this seems pretty normal
    on KF someone pled guilty and will be sentenced in January - this is normal

    I was a juror once
    he committed the crime in August
    he was arrested in October
    he was interrogated in December
    (IDK when the grand jury was)
    his trial was after Thanksgiving (late November)

    it was a much more serious crime than what Chris did, but that gives you an idea of how things work with the courts

    Most people can scrape together bail or have a lawyer who can speed things up. The system really dicks over people like Chris.

    With admitting to people in fucking Barb and on top of that any past actions and crimes, I'm betting Chris will be legally fucked. I'm not familiar with the legal system and what Chris would go through but win or lose the case, Chris will likely be fucked regardless.

    Chris was denied bail, the judge decided that he was a danger to Barb and bail was a luxury for him. Chris has basically dicked himself over.

    I mean, if he's being sent to a grand jury, that's almost certainly the case. In almost every scenario, they won't drop your case, though it is a possibility, a very slim one at that. It almost guarantees he's getting indicted, and getting a felony for his crime.

    Speculation on the farms is that they probably spent the past year offering Chris plea deals but he refused them because he’s an idiot and now the court is pissed at him.
