Waterman is getting downright bold. Chris would be at 'truthful hurt level' if he actually cared about anything Waterman said.

Maybe it would be better if this priceless collection Bob had gathered for decades and spanning generations was actually in ownership of someone who wouldn't just leave it to rot in the hoard.
And if Chris sells something as truly precious as this for pocket change, then it sounds like his problem.

Look at what happened to Bob's life when Barb crashed into slumber in it. 14BLC was a nice tidy suburban home. Then Charb happened.

Truth be told, I don't think Chris' video games are worth that much; Weren't some of the NES games in pretty poor condition when somebody (I think Clyde Cash) bought them?
And besides that, weren't half of his games just crappy licensed garbage and other kinds of shovelware? I can't see any monetary value in those.

Oh, sure, if Chris had any sense he'd take it to a stamp dealer to see what it's worth. I have no idea how complete or how much Bob's collection is worth, but Chris seems to be doing everything wrong in selling it off. And yeah, if Chris screws himself out of money that's his problem for being a dolt.

I hope the new owners appreciate what they're getting and take the proper steps to preserve their items. Chris certainly won't.

Good point. In the video, Chris said the collection is in six boxes. That's a lot of stamps to be selling individually.

Although, he's made $58 in sales so far from 8 of the listings. How would that compare to going the stamp dealer route?

I'm not a stamp dealer myself and despite being a stamp collector I don't know enough to know if he's getting a good deal or not.

Like I said, the entire collection could be worth more than the individual items sold separately - that's just how the business of collections works.

It would take longer to find a buyer, but he could make more money that way.

He looks at the short term, instant gratification. A collection like that isn't going to sell quickly, but a collector, with money, may want it.

He just won't take the time. Recall the Disney VHS that he believed was worth hundreds of dollars. A quick Google search shows it to be bullshit, but it points out how lazy he is.

But mommy says they're worth a lot, so if I sell a lot, I'll get a lot of money!

Doesn't Chris love 'Pawn Stars'? He should take a trip to Rick's shop and see what he values the stamps at.

  12. I can guarantee that Chris has not thought that through or even realized he's losing money by offering free shipping. His thought process goes, "well, it's more enticing if I offer free shipping so I'm more likely to sell it".

Speaking as someone who had to sell a deceased relative's stamp collection, Chris is not going to get much for them. Stamp collectors are dying off, its not a popular hobby anymore, so he's not likely to get enough to buy a large pizza.

How long before Chris relists that box of porn he tried selling on Craigslist for $1K?

I don't think it's really all that disrespectful for Chris to be selling Bob's stamps, it's not like Bob is still around to enjoy them.
You can't keep everything when you lose someone, it's neither practical or healthy. I'm sure there are still plenty of things in the hoard to remember Mr. C by.

It's times like this when I wish Chris wasn't as paranoid as he is now. Someone could've given him advice for selling these stamps correctly.

Fair enough I really do hope those stamps end up in a better place but tbh I expect them to start selling the rest of Bob's stuff eventually. Maybe even his clothes after this.

Barb, I think, is the kind of person who wouldn't sell anything that is hers over her dead body.

I wonder if the remains of the Keurig that caused the fire is still in the hoard somewhere?

The only stamps Chris will be collecting anytime soon are food stamps.
