That is probably what would have happened, hell he just had to not acknowledge that was him in the damn picture or even react. he could have pretended that wasn't him or ignored it and the shitstorm he has to deal with wouldn't have happened

 

That would have required Chris to have the maturity (hah), intelligence (double hah), and logic (triple hah) to say to himself "These guys *Want* me to respond to them, if I keep quiet long enough, they'll eventually tire of me and move on to another weirdo..."

 

Bob having some kind of epiphany about his toxic wife , what modern mental healthcare is actually like, or perhaps even both and confronting barb and make her change or leave and take Chris with him. that never happened though

I listened to "The end for real," call today and I'm about to do something really controversial.
I'm going to say I like Kacey.
I know people hate her voice and attention whoring but I think as a troll sweetheart, Kacey brought something new to the table, she actually acted like a real woman would with Chris.
All the girlfriends in the past get Chris to do or say something fucked up and record it and that was it. Panda never chewed Chris out for telling her to go live with her rapist. Blanca would ask Chris to exercise more but wouldn't address that he wasn't. Kacey would give Chris advice and then expect follow-up, she would act upset and later get mad about how he reacted. At one point in the call she discusses how saying "I care" (something Chris claims is his biggest selling point) doesn't mean shit when you don't act on it.
If Chris got a real not-troll girlfriend with a brain in her skull, she would probably end up acting like Kacey.
Jackie and Catherine would call Chris out on his shit too, but nowhere near as bad as Kacey Devoria and her father.

 

I think that chris actually has money, he just begs for more only for legos and game stuff

 

To me, all Kacey did was yell at Chri after a while. Real trolling takes more style and finesse. Even though she was awful at it, she was necessary for the Liquid Saga to work as long as it did. Chris would not have held in there nearly as long if china weren't at stake.

 

To me, Kacey was at her best when she was a bit more subtle in her dealings with Chris, when she started to yell, it was less like yelling and more like screeching and that made her sound rather unsympathetic.

 

The one thing about Kacey that, at the time, annoyed some watchers of Chris was that she kinda left herself open for holes to be poked in her trolling.

Luckily, Chris was as oblivious and dumb as a box of rocks, because if he had *any* kind of moment of clarity, he would have thought about how Kacey would constantly switch back and forth between going "But Solid Chris, I love Liquid Chris, I can't cheat on him!" and "So, Solid Chris, I mean, I *could* be your girlfriend, but you need to put work into making yourself better, it's up to you...." and basically could have just said "But Wait Kacey.....you say you don't want to cheat on Liquid Chris, yet you keep telling me you're willing to be my girlfriend if I put effort into improving myself....so what about Liquid Chris?"

 

I love how Liquid Matt managed to convince Chris that Kacey runs five miles everyday. I was new to Christory when I heard that call and hadn't seen her pictures. Now I laugh and laugh and laugh when I hear him say that. It shows how easy Chris was to duoe or how strong Chris could up his denial level if china was on the line.

 

But that is Chris all over, isn't it? Why does Chris keep getting trolled? Because he is very dumb, and the thought of a sweetheart will always override any concerns he might have.

 

Pretty much this. It's like I said, if Chris had even a moment of clarity, where he could take a step back and just thought logically about it, he'd only need to ask one or two questions, and it would have began to poke holes in Kacey's troll strategy.

 

Chris does have moments of clarity, like the time he said: "what is going to happen to me after my parents die", but they are few and far between.

 

Exactly. Him wondering what would happen to him after his parents die seems like the only real moment of clarity he's had.

Other times, you had good ole Chris being oblivious to, say, a 13 year old using an obvious and unconvincing falsetto voice to imitate his "sweetheart".

 

Very random. I was reading the comics today and "Luann" seemed to ripoff CWC's "My love quest is finally over!"! Should Christine sue and solve the Financhu crisis with her settlement?

 

Brad has fallen on hard time, did his roommate, Quinn(?) try to fuck him so he ran away?

 

Heh, that's Piro. He's one of Bernice's new college friends. Brad married Toni Daytona and is still living with his roommate TJ. I think Quill is still living at Gunter's house but has mainly been off on some theater gig.

Did Luann change artists since I last read it? (Years ago)

I remember the drawing style being much different.

 

Unlike chris, the artist's ability have improved over time. His daughter has been a co-author for about 5 years, but I do not think she helps with the art.
