Looking further into it all and remembering that Gaston's animator is an openly gay man who, according to Wikipedia, had his own sexuality as an influence on these characters and that Gaston was somewhat based on a character from a 1946 movie of the same name whose actor was also the lover of the director, on top of said actor from the 1946 movie playing the Beast and the Prince, all of these should justify Gaston and Beast getting together.
