Next couple of days I'm working the early shifts so if - IF - I get anything posted, it'll be a little later in the day.

 

I never thought the internet lumberjack would get a second chance. BRAVO good sir!

 

Heya Folks – just a quick status update.

While I’m not going to name where exactly I’m at – I am in one of those flyover states that is getting absolutely fucked by this damn pandemic.

Looking at the numbers and judging by how many new cases we get per day, I can safely assume by this time next week, 1 out of every 10 people in this state either has or had the disease.

But I’m rambling. My situation isn’t that much different from anyone else I’m sure.

Thus far, I’ve been lucky in dodging the plague, but my workplace hasn’t. About half of the staff at the site I work with have come down with the sickness, (plus the very good chance of a couple more that are suspect but refuse to go into testing because of the usual bullshit reasons). Thankfully, those affected have – thus far- have had only mild symptoms, but the effects are lingering.

Because of these sick folks – yup, you guessed it – I get to be the fallback. Again. Currently, and through Thanksgiving at the very least, I’m carrying the workload of three people, plus trying to do my own. If I get sick, then it all goes FUBAR. I’m not trying to put my stress level anywhere remotely close to what health care workers are dealing with, but I will admit I’ve had a couple of times in the last week I had near-meltdown.

I could whine a few more paragraphs, but no one gives a shit.

Fact is this: (oh shit, Tim Pool moment right there) Right now on a regular work day, I’m clocking in anywhere between 12-15 hours, with most of my downtime relegated to eats and sleeps. My “days off” I’m clocking in about 4 to 5 hours, and otherwise I’m too exhausted to do much more than lie on the couch.

So, this comic isn’t dead; neither am I. Gonna get through this latest hurdle because I don’t have much choice in the matter.

Correct... actually going for a mullet look, but indeed it is a pompadour in the front.

Anyway, I was hoping to have more done by this time, but life comes at ya fast.

As consolation, here's some scribblings I put together while testing out a new graphics tablet.

Unfortunately had some things crop up and kill what free time I had the last few days, and the next couple of days are my longer shift days, so probably won't be able to get anything substantial done until this weekend. So, consider this a 20 minute conciliatory post until then.
