    That was Barb in the driver's seat that time. I know Chris has become the driver by the game of net telephone VOIP but it was his mom's fault that time for that specific incident. And it was a van, but that's semantics, not factual inaccuracy.

    Actually they were both in the driver’s seat. Chris hit Snyder, they got out and switched seats, then Barb hit Snyder and sped off.

    Since they both eventually were made to plead guilty to the accusations, yes, it is fair to say you're right. My confusion stems from always reliable narrator, OPL, insisting in his version of events that, "Mom and I made our way to the van and entered it; Mike followed us out, and Stood right in front of the van, thinking he was Stonewall Jackson. We backed up the van some; Mike chased us. Mom took the wheel; Mike twice made his own deliberate leg scars, rubbing his legs on our bumper, banged our hood and fell backwards; we had NOT moved our van at either instance of him faking his falls."

    So if you read it a certain way, Chris might have gotten to flee from his admitted hit and run crime successfully only for trouble to surface over it later if they had just ignored switching drivers? Whole incident is a testament to naivety on the part of the Chandlers, but my favorite detail is Mike pleading for leniency for Chris only to be called a briber and liar before sentencing despite that gesture on Snyder's part.

    Yeah, Mike Snyder didn't want Chris to have a felony on his record, so Snyder graciously requested that they pay his medical bills (also a restraining order IIRC so Snyder would never have to deal with them again) and he'd consider it good. I think people on KF tracked down that Snyder had his businesses failing at the time and was involved in bankruptcy and lawsuits but he still was nice to the weirdo who had been bothering him for years.

    Chris responded predictably - he said the thieving liar wouldn't get a red cent, and that Rob Bell, who was serving in the Virginia legislature at the time, was a major wuss of a lawyer for not defending them better.
    Snyder asking for mercy and Bell being a knowledgeable lawyer were the reasons that Chris didn't have to go to jail or prison, but Chris has never acknowledged that.
