FB 2/16 - Chris comments on Bob's death

Chris posted that message on the profiles of one of his Facebook friends (the discussion he commented on was about time zones and Mad Men and has nothing to do with what he said).

 

Chris, are you sure the Loud Noise wasn't just you farting?

 

Oh lord. Things just keep getting grimmer.

 

I highly doubt that loud noise killed him, and I highly doubt he'd still be alive if there wasn't a loud noise.
I know that's pessimistic, but it is what it is.

 

This sounds like a way for Chris to justify the death of Bob. Bob being sick isn't a reason, but some loud noise shocking him into death, thats something that Chris can understand.

 

It's probably Chris being raised on television where the death is this big dramatic thing where the dying character hears some bad news or hears something shocking and the machines go crazy and the nurses surround him, start yelling stuff like "HE'S UNSTABLE, HIS PULSE IS SKYROCKETING, GET THE DOCTOR," and push his family out.
I'm no doctor, but the reality is that Bob was old and sick, and these things happen.

Well, Chris, Barb and Bob love to blame people for things, who can be blamed for Bobs death? Barb? Chris? The Trolls? Or maybe, just maybe the nurses who were around Bob in the hospital, they were the ones who killed Bob. That makes sense!

 

Pretty sure it was the massive amount of bug bites he sustained from all the insects festering inside the hoard his wife created that killed him.

 

Bob was a fucking legend.

Kind of a dick move to blame the hospital staff for Bob's death.

The thing is, he's not entirely wrong about shit like that, if only because Chris' life has been on a steady decline since birth. Life sucked when Bob was alive, but it was marginally better than life as it is now. Plus I'm sure having to "take care" of Barb 24/7 all by his lonesome is not helping.

I dunno, Bob failed Chris in alot of ways, mainly by trying to hide his Autism instead of getting him the help he needs. Doing shit like paying children to keep Chris company did nothing to help him. The right thing to do would have been to teach Chris how to interact with others in a positive way and thereby forge his own genuine friendships, but that required acknowledging a problem that Bob wanted to sweep under the rug.

 

Bob is lucky that Barb is truly awful, it allows him to be the 'nice one'.

 

Yeah, maybe, dunno.

BUT !!! How many lolcows dads killed 9001 Koreans in hand to hand combat and then invented plastic and shit ?

I don't want to absolve Bob of all his flaws but I will say this.
Bob was very old.
Hiding Chris's autism was more likely from fear than neglect. In Bob's days, a child like Chris would be locked up in the mental hospital for the rest of his life or be "too retarded" for public school. Hiding the autism meant Chris could grow up in a normal setting. It's telling that Chris calls that special needs school Greene County tried to send him to a "mental institution." Bob probably called it that too, not knowing any better.
Bob was probably also burnt out after raising two kids and going through a divorce, the hard reality is that Chris probably wasn't planned, and Bob probably didn't want kids with Barb. He tried his best, but he was an old man who just wanted to enjoy the years he had left in peace.

 

Like someone said, Chris is missing Bob a lot and Chris is using his childish defense mechanisms to cope with it. Bob was born in September 1927 and died a few days after his 84th birthday. He'd be 90 this year if he was still alive. Chris thinks that Bob would have been OK and would have recovered if it weren't for a loud noise at the hospital before he died. Does this mean Chris thinks people are basically promised to survive if they go to the hospital?

Also, it's an interesting bit of trivia that there was a loud noise at the hospital before Bob died.

 

Sex with Barb: not even once.

IF there was a loud noise my bet would be it was machine-related. Like Bob was hooked up to something and it sounded an alarm that death was imminent.

 

If Chris thinks he is stressed now, he should imagine how stressed he would be if he was looking after Barb and Bob and not just Barb.

And speaking of loud noises in hospitals, there are always loud noises in hospitals. There are people being moved around, things being dropped, people crying, people screaming, alarms and so on.

 

Yeah, it may have been the EKG going crazy before Bob passed away.

I used to volunteer at a hospital and needless to say they try to keep things as quiet as possible for the patients. I don't remember any loud noises in areas where the patients were convalescing.

 

I wonder if his mother said something to him about "Keep it down, your father is sick and you might make it worse" back when he used to yell and scream in his videos (And assuming other times of the day) and thinks some commotion at the hospital is what finally killed his father.

 

Pretty sure it was the daily Burger King visits.
