Sonichu/The Real Sonichu Audiobook Project

I've kind of gone on and off about this on Skype for way too long to the point where I ironically sound like Chris with "I'M WORKIN' ON IT!", but I'm finally at a point in my life now that I've moved into a new place and things aren't all over the place. I can properly do video editing and be able to work on this on a more regular basis. So now I'm making a thread.

Anyways, I've been interested in and am going to be starting work on a new batch of Sonichu audiobooks. Apart from kind of wanting to do them for the fun of it, one of the main reasons I want to do them is because the old ones are ancient by this point and don't reflect a lot of the changes that have happened to Chris over the years (basically anything having to do with Chris becoming Christine at all).

Well, to be more accurate, a bunch of us got drunk on skype and decided to start reading through Sonichu. It was so funny that I decided that it would actually be a really good idea to have it set up as an audioplay rather than a straight-up audiobook where each character is voiced. I'm also going to be ramping up the production values, that can be seen in a demo I made a while back to show what it would be like:



Anyways, I've talked to several people who are interested, like MasterDisaster who is interested in doing narration. Discussing with him led to another idea, namely giving fan comic writers some attention by those who would otherwise write them off. Namely, _blank_'s The Real Sonichu, from The Other Forum™. It's been really interesting so far and _blank_ is completely on board with it. The intention is to alternate releases between TRS and the Sonichu audiobooks.

The only issue so far is rounding up voice actors to start work, which is why I'm posting. Blame the insane amount of characters Chris created for Sonichu, I did a rough count and got to 180 characters introduced by the end of it. Yeah, it's ridiculous. As soon as I have enough to start work on either TRS or the original Sonichu, I'd like to start actually collaborating on it. If you're interested in voicing a character (and I'm interested in having the same voice actors between the two comics), either send me a message with an audition or post it in the thread. Just take a line from the comics or whatever you want to do. It can be humorous, you can do it straight-faced, it really depends on the character and since there's a shitton of characters I almost guarantee there's going to be a place for you.

And I might re-tool the OP later on and maybe make it a bit better as time goes on, I really don't want it to start as an ideas thread until I have better substance unfortunately.

 

If you can give Sonichu this voice you'll be beloved forever by the lolcow community.

 

I can do some form of a kawaii uguuu~ voice for a Rosechu or a Cannuck if you need one.

 

I'm moving tomorrow, so it'll be a few days before I can throw together a decent audition recording. But I'm definitely in. No idea which characters I should try to read for, though.

 

Would it be possible to get a character list together for all the voices you need to start off the project? It might be easier for folks to sign up if they're looking at a list rather than having to read through Sonichu again and see if any characters jump out at them.

 

Yeah, I've got a list that I'll post. I'll just trim it down to the first two or three issues since the sheer amount of side characters (and "main" characters) Chris threw in is ridiculous, I'll be able to post it tomorrow after work. Hopefully that'll help since having to read through Sonichu again would be akin to torture...
