Hilarious Old Public Information / Educational Films.

Are hilarious, usually in their frothing overtones. Here's some examples:



I like how he shows many examples of girlie mags with just a bit of brown tape over the nipples for "decency."

Don't do drugs children. Drugs are bad, m'kaay. They make you stand up in old convertibles and wobble about and give you sinful red harlot hair.



I remember seeing this one when I was just a little kid. It terrified the shit out of me. Extra points for the stuff the kids are wearing, which is just weird even by 1970s standard (viz. the girl wearing the monk's robe flying the model plane.)



And finally, this one gets a spot for its title. BEWARE THE RAPIST. Personally, I think it should be screened wherever Phil is but that's beside the point.

 

I love old PSAs like this. I have a DVD around somewhere of '50s or '60s-era railroad training films. One of them's just twenty solid minutes of mannequins getting maimed and dismembered by trains. Shit like getting pulled under the wheels, crushed by falling cargo, crushed by a pair of couplers, and just straight getting mowed down by a free-rolling car.

I don't have that one handy, so instead have this:

 

The British railway safety film "Killing Time" springs to mind. It's absolutely nightmarish. Starts with badly acted teenagers getting squished by a 125mph Intercity 125 and slow motion headphones flying through the air and then it gets in to how train drivers only found their leg and photos of actual dead children in situ.

 

Got to watch Reefer Madness with some friends a while ago. Easily one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.

That's a lie. Me and one other guy weren't, everyone else was coming down. Except for one guy though, he was totally out of his fucking mind on shrooms. He wouldn't even look at the screen, he just stared at the wall for the entire duration of the film.
