Oh, there are other episodes and their animations arn't as slophouse as this pilot but my god, I haven't seen such bad animation on TV until the Powerpuff girls reboot!

I often say that there is not such thing as bad premises, only bad executions, but maaan this sure makes me question that. What the fuck were they thinking?

 

I remember being a wee lad back when this debuted on TV, couldn't have been older than 10.

I distinctly remember feeling embarrassed for actually watching even just one episode, even way back then. I actually think it was this show that introduced me to the concept of "cringe" before it was even an actual thing.

Good times.

 

Damn, I actually remember this! it may have been bright and colourful, but it failed to hold my attention.

 

This was one of many celebrity animated vanity projects that came out of the early 1990s. Little Rosie (Roseanne Barr), Bobby's World (Howie Mandel), Camp Candy (John Candy), Wish Kid (Macaulay Culkin), Life with Louie (Louie Anderson), and many more.

 

DIC was never a great studio despite the few popular shows they did. They were very cut-rate. I have read plenty of stories from former staffers over the shit they pulled at the last minute to rush episodes on air at the networks.

Unquestionably it was the worst, though.

I once saw an old issue of Disney Adventures that claimed there were 14,000 cels involved in the making of an episode of the show.

Somehow I don't believe it.

 

It's like a "finished animatic" as I call it. They just too the layout pose sketches and quickly cel painted those and they were done! This sort of thing wasn't isolated either, anyone who's witnessed THIS knows what I'm talking about.

 

This is why I wanted to stop watching cartoons at that time (I was already in junior high then).
