Hello

Recently wrote these 6 Spec Scripts for a new Sonichu Animated Series. People seem to dig them so I thought I would pursue voice actors/animators/other contributors. See if I can turn these scripts into a reality.

Not gonna lie, this sounds ween since modern Chris is not as funny as classic Chris, especially with the Barb shit outside of maybe the ending memes.

If you are serious about this, go on another website but leaving a wordpress where you give a very brief idea of the plot and saying you can't do much else doesn't inspire much unless you gave more an idea of what they can expect.

 

Yeah, I'd have to agree with c-no on this.

Given recent events, it's now gone from "HA HA HA, look how goofy and weird and silly CWC is!" to ".....um.....CWC fucked his own mother....eww, no."

Like c-no said, if you're serious about doing this, and don't mind the (most likely) mocking you'll get from people like Kiwis, you should probably post on another site.

 

I'll also say thatbjust having an idea and looking for a team isn't really gonna leave many excited or hopeful for this unless OP gave us someone that showed us animation reels and the like for this. And even then, making this about Sonichu on a father quest doesn't sound like it'd be funny since it missed that mark years ago. It doesn't help with use of all the shit that happened with Barb's rape.

 

Something I want to point out here: Spazkid eventually came to completely regret making Sonichu: The Animated Series due to drama surrounding the voice actors, the Chris Chan saga becoming more sad than funny, and because he keeps getting hounded by weens to revive it against his wishes.
I bring this up because even if you did somehow managed to successfully make a new animated series for Sonichu, you could very much get far more than what you bargained for, and be forced to live with this constant regret probably for the rest of your life.

 

I mean it ends after 6 episodes, so hopefully people will get that this is the end. I think I wrote it so that people will realize that there will be no more after the final episode.

And I got a burner number, a burner gmail and a reddit account that I can bail on if necessary. No one will know who I am.

And I barely include Chris in it. Unlike the comic this is squarely Sonichu's story.

 

If you're going to lengths like that to hide who you are, I think maybe that should be a red flag that you shouldn't really proceed with this project.

 

I think a better idea is to add "weening" to the tags, lock the thread, and pin it as a reminder to not do this type of shit.

 

Ignoring all of that.....I decided to bite the bullet and read these "spec scripts"

....Honestly? They're not very good.

I think I smirked/chuckled maybe 2-3 times tops in reading all 6 of those scripts. I think the one bit of constructive criticism I can give is that you try *way* to hard with some of these jokes. Like, it doesn't come off natural. It just reeks of "HEY........HEY LOOK! THIS IS A REFERENCE TO CLASSIC CWC! IT'S FUNNY! HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The scripts also didn't really flow very well, and the last one you posted just got hella confusing, and the ending made zero sense.

 

I couldn't even finish the first page of the script. I'm gonna assume you're a pretty young writer, so let me give you some advice: don't put your early stuff put for the public. Writing, like everything, takes practice. Your first few things are not gonna be good enough for a legit audience for a long time. I recommend showing your work to some well-read friends who you know will give you honest feedback. People like that are very important to any creative mind. Then, after fine-tuning your craft for a little bit, post some of your work.

I'm gonna go ahead and call for the mods to lock this one as well.

EDIT: One other thing I'd like to add; parody still has to be well-written. It takes more than just callbacks to the source material. I recommend watching Airplane! or Hot Shots! Part Deux. They're the gold standard of parody movies.

 

Airplane? Yes. Hot Shots? ......No, honestly, no. It's a fun movie, don't get me wrong, but there's a lot better spoof movies.

I'd more go with Naked Gun or the first two Scary Movie movies over Hot Shots.

I don't know if you're being pissy/sarcastic because we've not taken to your idea like you thought we would, or if you honestly mean that, but one thing you *should* be thankful for is that we're all taking the time to be nice about all of this. You'd have gotten mocked 100 times over by the Kiwis.

 

Yeah if this was posted on the Farms, they'd be relentless to the point of wanting to know who OP is and post all the publicly available info there is. As for reading the first episode script, it really does need improvement because the jokes aren't making me laugh. Mocking Null with "cringe that is also a fag" and "I'M MELTING" with a Sockness looking translady letting Sonichu suck a tit aren't really sounding funny so much as something that comes off as try-hard.

 

Don't shoot me for this, but I haven't seen either. I fucking loved Hot Shots! Part Deux though. Maybe it's because I simp hard for Rowan Atkinson lol.

I really hope he's being sincere. My friend, we really are trying to help you. I work in the performing arts (inb4 powerleveling), so I would never do anything to try and squash someone's creativity, whether I like their content or not. I'm giving you these pointers because I want to help you.

Of course, I'm also the guy who wants to make a Chris Chan musical, so.......

Because, again, if this were KF, they'd eat you alive if you wanted to act like a pissy little whiner on top of your half baked "new animated series" idea.

You know I've gotten some compliments from people and people who do want to help. I think I'm just going to work with them and ignore this place from now on.

I just see your general attitude and no one I would want to associate with would recommend that I listen to you.

If you only listen to positive feedback, you're never gonna be better. Failure is the best teacher. My freshman year as a theatre major, I got turned down for every show I auditioned for. If I had a mindset like yours, I never would have got better at auditioning. But I watched the people who did get cast, figured out what they brought to the table, figured out what I didn't bring to the table, and ever since I've been maon cast in every show I've done.

God, I've powerleveled a lot here lol.

 

My unsolicited advice:
If this is something you think is worth doing, then grab yourself a copy of OpenToonz (it's free) and go to town. Teach yourself how to make preliminary animations first and once you've got something, post it to show prospective collaborators what your vision is. If you want to get it done, start it yourself and bring in people later once you've got a solid direction you want to go in. No one's going to stop you if you've already got the ball rolling. If you're getting discouraged by a handful of randos on some online forum, it doesn't bode well for your project.

That being said, it should be noted that this forum is primarily all former Kiwi Farms members. Though we tend not to go for the jugular quite like the Farms does, a majority of us have been following Chris for close to 10 years. At this point, we've pretty much seen it all, and that also means we've seen a lot of people trying to jump on the Sonichu train with varying results.

There's a "Report" link at the bottom of each post. Please use that to alert admins/mods of stuff you think deserves attention. We get a special notification when there are reports. I don't know if the mods have the power to lock threads either, and the other admins aren't really around, so I'm all you've got right now and I don't check the forum or the Chris sub as often as you think.
