A Jason Restrospective (Jason Kendrick Howell)

Well, after a lot of hunting and digging, I managed to find a full archive torrent of VivitheG's channel.

In doing so, I've dug up content that hasn't likely been since since around the time that it was posted, because a lot of the outlying content was never archived because it wasn't warranted as 'important'

So without further pause, I offer you the six part series of the man himself, reflecting on the early days of CWC.

It's weird hearing JKH's voice. I always thought of him as a legend but hearing him makes him more... human.

 

This very much sticks out, as we think of era's in the world like pre internet, pre steam power etc, needless to say, in smaller circles there are events just as splitting. For those who laugh at the mentally handicapped, these videos are the Wright brothers first flight. Something rather neat to a small group that spread and grew at an exponential pace. Much like cow watching.

It's ironic to think Chris turned so many people onto watching crazy people online, he's literally responsible for 1000s of cyber bullies.

 

That's EXACTLY what it is, that series of six videos is him talking about how it all happened for the first time, learning as he went and admitting to his mistakes so that future generations could learn from them and not repeat it.

I've been trying to find those videos for nearly two months, and I was almost ready to throw in the towel and just admit that they were lost to the great void of the internet. When I found the torrent, I wasn't even sure if they were going to be in there until it had finished, because it was compressed in a .tar file.

It's videos like this that offer so much insight to how everything developed, and its history that is easily overlooked for the content that was generated throughout it all. In a time where its understood that no detail is too minor, finding these videos again is restoring history.

Cool, someone thought it would be funny to go and flag a whole bunch of the videos for community guideline violations and the archive has been shut down despite not a SINGLE video that is up breaks the community guidelines. Going to look for something outside of youtube, if it can be abused so freely.

EDIT: I've sent a message to support over it, as seven videos were flagged by someone in a twenty minute window, but right now, the archives are back down.

 

Glad I thought to save them in time then! I edited them all together into a single file as well.

 

Currently in the process of uploading all chris content to archive.org, the only downside is that to do it in a usable format for the cwcki, I have to upload each video individually. Still going to fight to get the youtube account restored because its the easiest way to add the entire playlist to cytube/etc.

I should also note, no content was lost in the removal of the channel, all content is still backed up locally and will remain that way as such.
It's just an irritating and temporary setback in trying to restore things to the glory days of CWC archives.

 

Just the thought of the CWC library being on archive.org fills me with joy!
