YouTube Clickbait Thumbnails (Painfully Tryhard Edition)

So over the evolution of YouTube, much of the community had loved the idea of being able to put thumbnail images over their titles to help grab attention of viewers.
However, with it came the people seeking attention and trying to grab views (since YouTube ranks your ad revenue through views).
It's hard not to see videos like this either. They're all over the place.
I have a couple examples that are so painfully obvious it's clickbait, it kinda hurts on a laughable level.

I think youtube really needs to change its policy because of this crap

 

It brings in views, therefore ad revenue as most clickbait channels are unsurprisingly partnered. There's no reason to change it.

 

To be fair to Vatiwah, he's been all about that kind of schtick from Day One, it's like 7th grade level potty humor. For God's sake, he makes a series called Boobs and Lubes. I'm not saying it's not a clickbait thumbnail, I am just saying if you watch his channel, this is the shit you see, so I can actually forgive him for this because it's truth in advertising. It's retarded humor.

And before you ask, it's because I'm a long time subscribe to MxR who does a lot of the same jokes except Henry is actually being self denigrating about it and pulls it off way smoother. Vatiwah's videos come up in my recommendations a lot but I don't sub to him, he's too over the top for me. That said, I think they're both mocking some of the more ridiculous aspects of modding in general.

That aside, you all forgot The Master, who was doing this long before it was cool.

Mario seems to be a popular target among clickbaiters. Almost as if they're creatively bankrupt and can only rely on internationally famous subjects (Mario, Pokemon, Star Wars, Disney), or current fads and trends (Five Nights at Freddy's, Undertale, fidget spinners, emojis).

 

They are against the rules, and you can report them for "misleading thumbnail image" or something, but I don't think they do anything about it really.

 

I think about it the same way with bootleg games on the Google Play Store. They don't remove it because it gets ad revenue so it's like "lol, why cut out the extra money?"
I might be wrong, but it's a theory why there's such a lack of moderation for both YouTube and the Google Play Store.
