Also, I kind of wonder if this is some kind of weird ploy to get Cole's address and guilt him into helping them somehow. Offer him some money if he gives them his address, then they show up on his doorstep homeless asking him to let them live with them. Or maybe he's having some financial difficulties and needs a few hundred dollars which they don't have to give him.

Whatever, it just seems like a very typical Chris update at this point that's only made notable because there's a connection to Cole. It's hard to believe sometimes that Cole was featured in Time magazine at one point.

 

Wait, are these legit? 1st edition Wonder Woman #1 has got to be worth way more than $30, right?

 

Famous First Edition, not an actual 1st edition. It's just a cheap replica sold in the seventies that isn't worth much. People try to sell them for thousands online to scam people who don't realize that.

 

I notice Barb is wearing that 400 dollar necklace Chris bought for her.

Also, damn Barb is looking and sounding more and more like the old woman in the nursing home who smells like urine and doesn't know where she is.

 

To quote Barb herself: "Yes."

 

If the greedy fireman hadn't stolen the Dali print, Chris would be trying to sell that for $200,000.

Fuck off, Chris. You don't want to help Cole out in the slightest.

 

I don't believe for a millisecond that Cole approved of this or even knows of this.

 

I think it’s funny he puts that they were owned by Cole as a selling point but only lists them at (what he perceives as) market value. If they were owned by Chris he’d probably be asking triple that. Might have a better shot at selling these old bargain bin reprints too.

 

I don’t think they’re Hulk, they’re Sgt. Rock and there’s a lot of them. From the looks of it though Cole didn’t have very good taste in comics or these were just boxes of junk comics, I used to have plenty of those in my collection.

 

But wouldn't Chris trying to mimic good comic structure take away a big part of what makes Sonichu special? I mean, Sonichu doesn't just have bad comic structure; it's almost a defiant stand against it.

 

At this point, chris literally thinks he's become a videogame character, picking up other peoples shit and selling it for money

 

lol, he refers to the comics as Cole's old crap in the same sentence he explains why he should be selling them.

Nice sales pitch...

 

That last little bit kind of makes it sound like Chris (or Barb) asked Cole if he wanted to come home and pick up the rest of his things, and his response was "No! I'm not going back to that house to pick up my old crap. You can keep it and do whatever you want with it! Sell it or keep it, I don't care."

 

Cole knows if he went back to that house Chris and Barb would cling to him like tar.

At least Chris is sending cole half the money he's making off this, or claims to anyway.
