Chris's entire life can be summed up with "he didn't learn his lesson"
You really can't blame anyone but himself for this huge fuck up

I mean, we're talking about a guy who was constantly tricked by trolls pretending to be women who were in love with him, not exactly someone who learned from their mistakes...

Bob and Barb deserve some credit for the train wreck that is chris.

chris however is still the engineer with the throttle slammed forward and no regard for the brakes.

So mainstream media is like the newspaper that reports on the train wreck the next day.

Wow, I go away for a few days to be a normie and I come back to this treasure trove of Financhu Crisis insanity. Granted nothing will ever, ever touch classic Chris, but this is still pretty rich.

I am absolutely amazed he found this, and even more amazed they had this in that condition, in that kind of... "storage".

Seriously as much as I have to laugh at this with the rest of you, I truly did not understand how bad Barb's hoarding and the overall deplorable conditions of the Chandler household are at this point. I knew they have had issues for many years now, but I had thought the fire would have helped them with that. I guess if it did it didn't last very long.

I'm so conflicted. I'm laughing at this so hard and I can't find any pity for Chris whatsoever. On the other hand, I don't think two human beings should be living in conditions like this. The fact that a still wet shirt was kept for three years in this manner is indicative of so much. It is beyond sad.

That's what boggles me the most. You'd think after a couple days at most one of them would at least take the clothes out of the bags to air-dry.

The point is not lost on me. Chris is so much more capable of taking care of himself than he does. Barb is reaping what she has sown over many years, alienating her children, being financially irresponsible, etc.

Still it's just... wrong. I think the fact it is self inflicted just keeps me from processing it properly.

To be fair, I don't think Chris and Barb wake up every morning and go "gee, what can we do today to dig ourselves deeper in the hole?" "How can I make Cole/Harriet/other family members hate me more?" Mental illness is a shitty thing.
Barb clearly has something in her head, and Chris's autism makes it hard for him not to have that material possession he currently wants. They need help but refuse it, that's why it's their fault, even people as messed up as Chris and Barb have to look at their trash and debt and go "This isn't normal."

What's really going to ding him is offering free shipping on that several ton dog house.
