I knew the days of openly talking about Chris Chan were long gone when I saw a description of Kiwi Farms (from Wikipedia, I think?) stating it was created to harass a trans woman. Apt description for today's KF, sure, but that description alone could change any discussion about CWC from "goofy guy who makes silly cartoons" to "trans woman targeted for being trans".

 

I can't speak for the discourse on KF but the trans aspect of Chris wasn't really talked about outside of when he transitioned

 

I just checked the KF page on Wikipedia and they've scrubbed all direct references to Chris, referring to him as "a webcomic artist" and how CWC is "the artist's initials". It's hilarious to see them go to Voldemort route but really, what choice do they have?

I’m glad that this place still exists. It’s a nice halfway point between the farms these days that is too notorious and the subreddit which is full of people who didn’t start following him until the motherfucker saga.

 

Yeah, I joined this site to get back in contact with some people that I lost contact with back in the day. Many of them I lost contact with after about 2016 when I sort of took a hiatus due to shit going on with my life. I literally found out about this place when looking at the Cwcki one day and so I lurked a little, liked what I saw, then I joined.

 

I’ve noticed that there are very few old members of Kiwi that are still active there, myself included.

 

As I’ve said before, the CWCki Club is probably the only place on the internet where discussion about Chris doesn’t automatically fall into overall transgender discourse (Reddit tries to crack down on it, but without much success).

Interestingly enough, the Spanish Wikipedia mentions him by name and actually used to have an article on him until it was deleted.
The aversion to mentioning him might’ve made sense a few years ago, but considering the mainstream attention…

 

It'd really require more context but then again, one can imagine others not giving a shit mainly because of the fact Null thinks there's some trans agenda out to destroy Murica or some shit. Even then the actual purpose of the CWCKI forums is gone because screw the actual reason, Null and others manage to give some ammo to make it all look like it was made solely to torment Chris..

From what I remember being told by another, most old members left after 2019. I posted very sparingly on the site after 2019 but whether it's now or a few years back, I pretty much ain't posting on there.

Unlike other places, we don't obsess and sperg over trans. And with mainstream attention, one can only imagine people won't get the whole picture on Chris beyond thinking "hey, trolls ruined the life of this autistic man/transwoman" without realizing there's more to it than trolls.

 

I think Kiwi Farms changed from being a mainly lolcow-centric forum to being a political forum with some lolcow stuff on the side.

It's hard to 'get the whole picture' when the picture is so large. The thing about Chris is that not just is he a such a heavily documented person, it is very difficult to condense him into a couple of sentences. There are so many facets of his personality and history (Sonichu comics, the Love Quest, transgenderism, God delusions, among which) and trying to briefly explain who he is to an uninitiated outsider will clearly leave some of it out.

 

It did. Even if lolcows still had a focus, there's still the post that could end up being as spergy over politics. As for Chris and all the info, there really is a lot to dissect that one could still be left with questions, not mention any counters one could make whether it's how much Chris could change over the years or thinking how much has to be the influence of trolls and not just other theories or guesses like the incest saga still happening because of shit like the spooning or Cole saying in an email how there were strange scenarios thanks to Barb and her former husband in rearing Cole.

 

I think it can be done:

It's amazing how easy it is to bait post on the farms now vs the old days when 90% of the userbase was on the spectrum. Lots of the lolcow stuff falls more into the category of snark IMO. It's not done with humour, its really a-loggy anger towards people who aren't that bad.

 

Another way to do it:
"CWC is a victim of trolling whose upbringing involved a piss poor understanding of autism from parents living in rural Virginia. Chris has also had run ins with the law and non-police authority figures over attempts at getting girlfriend and had at one point in life, desired to do harm upon a manager of a hobby shop after getting banned. Chris-Chan is a product of what happens when one lacks common sense on the internet as well as being raised on TV and coddling parenting in rural Virginia"

While some users in the old days would fall for shit, you also had those calling something out in being BS or at least questionable. Compare that to the userbase of today where they could likely eat shit up, especially if it appealed to their politics or made a thread not because of snark over a legit lolcow but because there's someone they don't like that could at most be just a sperg. At least any anger in the older days, you could justify some of it depending on the person in question such as Nick Bate in all of his sick-fuckery with pedophilia and with his disgusting fetishes.

 

As I’ve said before, modern lolcows (in the Kiwi definition) don’t have to be that interesting. If you have any kind of interest or mannerisms that could be considered unusual, or are just a political figure, you end up with a thread.
