Breath of the Wild

GameXplain has the new BotW amiibo and has done a video on what they do in game:

 

Hmm, I dunno how I feel about those rare weapon amiibos, especially the guardian. Looks like those weapons would be something I have to work for in the game, and I don't like accessing them early.

I'll still get the amiibo but I dunno if I'll be using them at all. They're hella cool tho.

 

Not going lie, this kinda killed my interest in getting the other amiibos if they only give you items you could probably find later in the game without. I was going to trade in a few games to get at the Horse Link and Zelda amiibos, but forget it, I'll just use that credit towards Mario Sports Superstars instead.

 

My copy just arrived today- skimmed through it and no spoilers for Breath of the Wild, unless you include stuff already featured in some of the trailers. otherwise very benign.

The rest of the book is friggin' great too, so, big plus there.

 

So Amazon has started canceling preorders for the master edition of the game.

Which I ordered so I'm freakin' out.

 

I just got the regular edition. I only want the special case in the master edition and I will probably pick it up separately if I can get it for a good price. In all the pictures and box openings of the sword statue that I have seen, the sword has always been bent :3

 

Fi has had a rough few years.

Anyone buying a copy in-store? I wish I did because then I could pick it up and play it at midnight! Now I have to sit around for the mail to be delivered the whole day.

 

I have Amazon Prime, so I will just have to be patient on Friday.

 

Same.... that and the closest place that sells vidya around here (Wally Wooooorld) is about 70+ miles out and I don't really want to be driving two hours, then go to work for another eight.

Anyway, while I wait, I bought a copy of Dynast.... I mean... Zelda Warriors for my Wii U. Also got a pro controller and... why does it not have a headphone jack, Nintendo? JFC guys, I want to be supportive of you but every single time I turn my head you're figuring out another way to gank things up.

 

Hyrule Warriors is a lot of fun and has a lot of content too, a little too much for my liking. Wish it had an online mode though.

I haven't been charged yet for my order! They had BETTER ship it on time or I am going to lose my mind.

Also I love the crap outta Hyrule Warriors. I can't put it down.

 

I like Hyrule Warriors, but I think it suffers from not having online multiplayer. Some maps are too hard for me and I need help to complete them and get the prizes, but my only friend who plays HW, lives in another country

 

When do the embargoes on the reviews get lifted?

 

So it's been out for a day... what is everyone's initial impressions?

Personally, I'm just glad A) my copy arrived; and B) I was able to get the game to play on my Wii U, whose internal files basically ate up half the HD space. Alas, last night I was curating KFMN so maybe tonight I'll actually get a chance to play it for an hour or five.

 

Its really hard.

 

I died more in the first area of Breath of the Wild than I have in every Zelda game I've played combined.

 

I like Breath of the Wild since I like murdering innocent Bokoblins. Also, I ran to fight Calamity Ganon at the very first time I could (as in after the first area) and was completely destroyed.
