Is anyone else as mad crazy for this game as I am? The trailer couldn't build up near enough hype to handle me.

Just the fact that it's voiced would sell the game for me, but wait, there's more! 120 dungeons??? Could it be?? A map bigger than Skyrim???

Bruh March 3 can't get here fast enough.

Did I mention I love Link in blue?

Link in blue is really cool, glad they have moved away from the green.

Will you be getting BotW for Switch or WiiU? I have the Switch version pre-ordered(and a Switch too obviously) and it will definitely keep my busy until MK8D comes out, plus Splatoon2 and Sonic Mania.

I have managed to stay relatively spoiler free too, so maybe we should keep the thread that way too?

I preordered the switch version as well. How'd you grab the system preorder? I sniped it off Amazon but that thing sold out in minutes!

Don't you just love Zelda's new look? Man, she's so cute I wanna die! I just had to grab her amiibo!

I preordered the game last Friday for the Wii U since I'm too poor to afford a Switch at launch :(, but the last gen version will probably still be just as good, I just hope the amiibo they're making for the game actually do stuff that's not just giving you a random amount of stuff, cause so far the most useful one is the Wolf Link amiibo.

Got it off Amazon, I had the day off that day, So I was basically refreshing all day. I also ordered 3 of the amiibo, Zelda, archer Link and the Guardian. I really love all the new designs. The blue colouring of the clothes really works well.

The most recent Famitsu had info on the amiibo:
Horse Link - will summon a horse
Archer Link - replenish your arrows
    Zelda - refill your hearts
The Guardian - special guardian fight
    Bobokin - harder difficulty

Oh well that certainly makes the upcoming wave a lot less pointless, I'll probably at least snag the Horse Link amiibo at launch.

I ordered all of the amiibo. I had a feeling I'd wanna go all out for this game, which is why I was saving money since before Thanksgiving. The switch went up on amazon at like 1 in the morning for me, so I was super lucky I was still awake.

Did you see the Master Edition for the switch? With the Master Sword statue and the carrying case?

They have clips of the amiibo's gifts coming into the game. Fish RAIN from the sky, flopping about. It's pretty funny.

    Nerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd.

Let's talk about more important things, like whether this is a new Link or we're saying hello to an old friend. He did wake up in a resurrection chamber. So either: a) he's a new Link that was gravely injured but not dead, b) he's a new Link that died and was brought back, or c) he's an old Link that was resurrected because Hyrule was that desperate for the emergence of that cycle's Hero.

I like the idea of him being a Link from a Great War, fighting alongside Zelda and trying to keep Ganon at bay. Then he falls in battle and Zelda puts him in a resurrection tower or whatever. It takes 100 years to rez him but when he does, Ganon has taken over and the Zelda he knew is dead.

That'd make for a crazy story.

Course, that might make shipping awkward. "I knew your great grandma and wanted to bone her".

Way more awkward than "I knew you 100 years ago and wanted to bone you."

I'm throwing my hat into the "It's a Link we know" ring (or at least "Link was dead") until there's substantial proof otherwise. I'm seeing Link to the Past connections all over the place and there are references to Link having "forgotten." Both games also draw an interesting parallel with Link beginning his journey being awakened by a plea for help. If this Link is a resurrected LttP!Link, then it's a callback to when he first began his original quest.

Even if he's not a prior Link, I'm still betting he's a new (dead) one that fought Ganon but, as you said, failed. Except unlike the Hero of Time he's brought back as himself rather than reincarnated.

Also, the LttP Link was last seen in water, and the Link here is FIRST seen in water.

    Coincidence?

Of course, we have to focus on the timeline. After the LttP Link comes the original Link. So he had to be reincarnated.

    Very true.
Let's see.... We have three Links in the Fallen Hero timeline.
    1. Link to the Past, Oracle of Ages, Oracle of Seasons, and Link's Awakening are the same Link, and the first in that timeline.
    2. A Link Between Worlds and Tri Force Heroes are the second incarnation of that timeline.
    3. The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link -- literally the first two games in the series -- are the third incarnation and the last known incarnation of that timeline.
While all Links share core parts of their appearance in common, the Links of this timeline bear the strongest to the Link of Breath of the Wild. It's not necessarily a requirement for Links of a timeline to look identical, but it still raises the possibility that, if he's a resurrected Link, he could be one of these.

He totally has those sideburns going for him.

But what if this game MERGES all the time lines together into one perfect one and defeats Ganon for good? Skyward Sword was the first reincarnation of Link, and Breath of the Wild could be the very last?

Also, I just really love Zelda in pants. I can't get over it.

Pre-ordered it for my Wii-U. Planning on playing it... then putting the Wii-U into the Amazon Trade-In deal because I'll have absolutely no further use for the console, sadly.

As for the storyline, I'm thinking it may very well be in the Fallen Link timeline (After Ocarina of Time, you had Adult Link, Kid Link, and the timeline if Ganon defeated Link). Sounds like somewhere in between Link to the Past and the fabled Binding Wars the game's lore has mentioned.

Anyway, I'm really interested in trying this out, but I'm not allowing myself to be too excited for personal reasons. Nothing really standing out for me to be really against, but I've learned over the last few years to take what Nintendo shows us with a grain of salt.

    Nerds!

Anyway, I was going to get the Master edition, but the only thing i really wanted was the case with the Sheikah design. I saw the sword on Nintendo Treehouse with Reggie, and it looked very wonky to me. Always a danger with statues like that.

In the end I just got the normal edition and I will maybe get the case seperately off ebay at some point(if the price is right)

I had to snag the Master Edition cuz I'm such a slut for Zelda.

And honestly, I feel like Nintendo has shown us enough gameplay to really know what to expect, and everything I've seen so far I totally love. I especially love the little animations they've given Link. Like everything he does is adorable.

I don't want to hype myself up for this too much because I need to save my money for a bit. I will say though, I love this current design of Zelda, and the voice acting also excites me a bit.

I keep saying to myself, "don't get hyped, don't get hyped". I have been disappointed in the games I have believed the hype about: Dark Souls 3, Pokemon Moon(its one long cut scene), The Last Guardian and I am trying so hard not to get my expectations up.

But you know what? I am hyped.

It IS dangerous to get hyped about games these days, but I have a lot of faith in this game. As I said before, they released a lot of gameplay for us to get a really good idea of it. I think they did a two hour stream of it? All of which was fantastic! Even if the story blows I don't think I could be disappointed in this game with the gameplay looking this much fun.
