Breath of the Wild

The grip that comes with the console does nothing except hold the joy-cons in place, so really unless you have the charging grip, the only way to charge the joy-cons is to attach them to the Switch itself.

The only amiibo I don't really like is the one of Link on a horse, if you look under his cloak, you can see that Link has a completely blank face with no detail at all, not even eyes!

 

Well that's another, what, 50? dollars down the drain. I'm hoping the grip is big enough to be an actual controller, just it looks kinda smushed together. Honestly, I'm not expecting it to be that comfortable.

Whaaaat, I didn't notice that! Damn, I was really loving the look of that one, too. At least the awesome archer Link can't let me down.

 

The charging grip is $30.

The archer Link only fills your quiver with arrows, the rider Link can summon a horse to ride, so technically I guess the rider amiibo is the most useful of the two?

 

I'm hearing a lot of reviewers say they all played on the pro controller. Guess I'm going to be putting money aside for it.

 

Ok so apparently the game is getting a $20 season pass.

I think the pack with the new dungeon and story sounds interesting, but I'm not too keen on the rest they have to offer, which really sucks cause they're selling it in one season pass so I can't buy them individually. I'll probably only get the expansion pass if I get gifted a $20 eshop card and there isn't anything else I want.

Anyway, whilst not pertaining directly to Breath of the Wild, thought I'd mention that this Tuesday, they are releasing the LoZ: Arts and Artifiacts book. Looks like it's going to be an honest-to-goodness art book of the Zelda series, even featuring art from the very first games, which I'm pretty stoked about. I remember when I got my own copy of the original Legend of Zelda and how much I glossed over the instruction manual it came with and all the badass illustrations inside.

 

I don't have a problem with the season pass, as adding an extra dungeon and a story is totally awesome and I want it. Thoooough, if the first part of it is something like a master quest, then yeah, I'll be pissed. We've never had to pay for a master quest before, and I don't wanna start at all.

But gimme that extra dungeon!

I am STOKED for that new book! I've had it preordered for a month now, and I'm really excited for art from the older games. They even had pages of all the sprites they've used! Though I dunno if I want to open it before Breath of the Wild, because I know they'll have art of that and who knows how spoilry it'll be.

 

I see that the Breath of the Wild game guide is available to order on Amazon, both a regular and special edition. I think I might pick up the regular edition just to have something to consult when playing the game.

 

I'm getting the guide too, because the game is massive and there won't be any decent guides online in the first week. I really don't wanna miss anything in this game.

 

And don't forget you can use the Wold Link amiibo to get a wolf companion in BotW.

 

Such a good game. I have all the console games beaten, just have to push to finish the handheld titles.

 

I have the wolf amiibo, and I've seen some clips of the wolf in Botw, but I just don't know if I'll use him. He only has the amount of hearts that you saved during the Cave of...trials or whatever it was called, and I never got farther than like round 5. I HATE playing as wolf link, and having to fight an entire cave of baddies is insane.

 

Someone level up my Wolf Link amiibo to 20 hearts, I will buy you breakfast at McDonalds.

 

Is anyone gonna name their horse Epona? It just feels kinda wrong to me cuz ITS NOT EPONA

That is a really nice book. I preordered it. So far I've spent over $500 on this game lol.

At least the Art and Artifacts book comes out tomorrow, gives me something to do during this last stretch!
