I've finally unlocked the Diamond Cup in F-Zero GX. It's too bad I'll most likely never be to unlock the AX pilots. Real shame too, because I really want to play as a funky alien taxi driver (that's possibly also a Crazy Taxi reference, considering the game was developed by Sega).

 

Alien taxi had best theme besides Captain Falcon. If we had AX on MAME, all that's needed is some workaround to get those AX racers.

 

I did get all the racers that debut in F-Zero X though

No word on if I'll ever get Deathborn, considering how evil the story mode's difficulty is.
And out of all the X fighters, Mighty Gazelle is my favorite, at least partially due to his theme music

 

Finally made it to the level with the colored balls in Jetpac.

But couldn't get past the one with the birds (paper planes?)...

Pico's School. Did so since I played Friday Night Funkin after hearing how it brought attention to Newgrounds. Much as I lost interest in that site, it was great to play a classic flash game from the late 90's.

 

I still find it nice to see some old Newgrounds stuff like Madness Combat, and also animation that was made entirely to troll certain users, such as Street Fighter Chode, and I greatly enjoy the animation collabs they put out like the Smash Bros and FF7 collab.
Plus, Newgrounds gave us people like Oney, Sr. Pelo, and Psychicpebbles *, so it still has a longer lasting legacy than Something Awful.
*(and Egoraptor too, but he's pretty much a shell of himself after he sold his dignity and ditched the idea of animation in favor of doing terrible let's plays (especially the Zelda ones) for the sole purpose of profit, so he doesn't count.)

I lost interest in NG around the early 2010's and I'll admit, I felt like it'd end up being a relic what with how Youtube could replace it and all in terms of videos but thanks to other sites and Youtube making questionable and downright idiotic moves, Newgrounds gets a revitalization it deserves from the Tumblr adult content purge to Friday Night Funkin' with all the spergy fans it could attract. I'll admit, some flash games can no doubt age like milk and Newgrounds likely killed off some admittedly shitty flash games I enjoyed but that mid-late 2000's era still holds a place in my heart compared to the 2010's to present era. Also lost interest in Egoraptor after that Sony Playstation Tester shit since I was always more into his animations than any Game Grumps shit when he had either Jon Tron or that other guy who some idiots on the internet tried to cancel culture on (I could get weariness in terms of celebs having some possible sway but then again, making shit up to take him down is just scummy as fuck).

As for vidya I played today, revisited a game called Exanima. Just a long ass dungeon romp where movement and combat is physics based and about 75% of enemies are undead zombies and skeletons with the 25% being four kinds of demons and one kind of living suit of armor. Far as dungeon exploring games go, I wish some people would take notes from Exanima if they wanted to throw in a dungeon for one to explore. The first floor in that game gave me the feeling it was more lived in and had character on par with some areas in a Dark Souls game versus Oblivion and Skyrim. That and the fact I could make my guy a fatty and have him go from an amnesiac who wonders where the way out is to a fatty who wonders where the way out is while fighting the game's version of Fallout's deathclaws using nothing but a grounded in reality designed two-handed sword.

 

I still have my copy of the N64 version, and a Charmander card for printing crappy tiny pics from it.

God I need to get around to that, as another person very familiar with the original as a small child. Focused more my time lately on Nier Replicant, which I think launched on the same day. Nier also very good, but now that I'm done with it and done crying I can get Snap in before RE8 drops in a week.

 

Been playing Resident Evil: Village. Finally beaten it today. The final boss was a refreshing change in terms of what sort of mutated horrors you fight. Way more a proper final boss than what 7 gave with an overpowered gun that says "I Win" three times.

 

If you've been to the Desert UFO thread in Oh Hai Mark, you've seen that I've been playing a lot of SpaceEngine lately.

Too bad people may never be able to really see the universe beyond the Solar System IRL.

 

Titanfall 2 still holds my attention when I feel the need to play it again. I really like its singleplayer.

I've gotten really into Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, and feel like I need to jump into the PS2 trilogy to really learn about the Strangereal universe and all the insane happenings that go on there. The soundtrack for AC4, 5, and Zero are all fantastic, and AC7 made me fall in love with the series. It's a good time.

 

Classic World of Warcraft Burning Crusade comes out on June 1st, and has a prepatch tomorrow the 18th. And because I'm dumb, I'm ready to go on the nostalgia and drama trip that is playing this 15 year old game all over again, instead of playing new stuff or interacting with more meaningful cnotent. Very very excited though to go on a shopping trip buying Monster energy drinks and other snacks/modes of self harm, in preparation for the release night 60-70 grind.

(It also has a version you can buy for something like 35 dollars that has a level boost for one character to 58, so more people can be baited into the mistake by skipping classic leveling)

Can you really beat Beat Saber?

 

Lately I been doing an attempt at rerunning Skyrim's special edition with the firdt character I beaten the game with on PC. All simply because I wanted to soul trap the ghost of a character that was a complete asshole and a tyrant. That said for all the nods I see going to Skyrim I feel I'll never get into the deeper part where people try to modernize a near 11 year old game with combat systems and dodge systems that barely make it a soulslike game with damage sponges.
