I have serious respect for Tre Cool from Green Day now ... those beats are not a joke and now I can't lift my arms over my head.

 

Psychonauts 2 is great. Found out why I'm enjoying it so much is because Erik Wolpaw, the writer for Half-Life Alyx and Portal 2 wrote it. It's really good.

 

Silent Hill 4 on PC. Bought it on GOG when it was released but I never started playing it until yesterday. About half-way done and I found out the PC version cut out a lot of hauntings. Normally I don't mind since I heard these things will fuck you over if you placed a macguffin used to get rid of them even slightly off but if having many of them cut means I could be locked out of the best ending, well then fuck me I don't want my shitty apartment to be having too spoopy things like shoes that were moved to the kitchen or a clock spinning.

 

At the very least, Silent Hill 4 didn't get the "HD Collection" treatment that 2 and 3 got.

Comic Sans font sign and new voice actors that likely fuck up the character one way or another. Last time I hear Heather's voice from it, she did not sound like the character type people liked. And on top of being made through a beta build through a company that IIRC made only rhythm games. Big wew. Meanwhile Silent Hill 4 actually got some patching for its GOG version.

 

Red Dead Redemption 2. Fun as the game is, fuck random events that shit makes me lose good animals I hunted. And fuck the hunter with the leg in a bear trap. I know that shit is "mash the mouse button(s)" but fuck that shit is annoying and I hate how everytime I do it I somehow fuck it up. An hour or so of progress that's doing shit outside of missions gone because of that, fucking why Rockstar? And why the fuck couldn't they at least give me more than one autosave? IIRC CP 2077 for all its jank and Todd's meme game that is Skyrim gave me more than one autosave and didn't hide their save menu behind a few menu screens. Outside of that, I hate how these random events somehow lead to an autosave like really, fuck that it only ruins all the progress I have to redo.

Edit: and killed by wolves because Rockstar loves to make shit annoying with animations that scream "you're fucked" just like Bethesda and it's stupid kill-cam's. Hell do all these animations bugger me everytime a dev thinks it's a good idea to let people watch something that ranges from time-consuming and stupid to "are you fucking kidding me" because for some reason the game decides that's when I should die.

I beat Carnival Night Zone in Sonic 3. Fun fact: I was never able to get this level as a kid all thanks to that stupid barrel. Fuck that place.
Also, I ended up triggering one of Robotnik's deadly speed traps, ie I went too fast and glitched through the level, forcing me to restart.
(Oh, and BTW, that "Robotnik's Deadly speed traps" wasn't a joke I just made up. Sega of America acknowledged a glitch in the game's manual by calling it that. No, seriously, look it up.)

 

In SpaceEngine I found a planet about 1 AU from a white dwarf, over 54,000 light years away...

With "true sun brightness" on, the sunlight really is about as bright as a full moon at night.

Also, since a white dwarf is about as big as a solid world, it looked like a tiny bright star.

 

I'm playing NES Remix Pack, a retail physical copy of both NES Remix titles on Wii U. I completed a mission that just involved killing Luigi in Mario Bros. (and on the Year of Luigi, too! Have you no shame, Mario!?).
(Also, I have no idea why the Gamepad needs to be on for this game. It's only function for that game is to make optional posts on Miiverse (which no longer exists), and the Wii U Pro Controller is completely compatible with everything else. I guess Nintendo really wanted people to use the Gamepad. Still not nearly as bad as Star Fox Zero.)

Yakuza 7. I'm not big on turn based RPGs outside of Wizardry 8 and the classic Fallout games on top of Final Fantasy Tactics on the GBA and some Shin Megami Tensei titles I enjoyed playing but far as it goes, I'm actually hooked on the game. Probably helps that it's great just seeing my characters run up to a homeless guy or a drunk office worker, bash him with a bat or a purse and then use the money I got from a fight to have my character and his party eat a burger and a beer at restaurant not far.

Joking aside, despite being in the middle of Persona 5 Royal, and having a shitload of new games I should be playing, such as Yakuza 7 like @c-no , I started a new game of Final Fantasy XV. I originally played and beat the whole thing on Xbone before the Royal update came out, so I never really got to play the main game with the fancypants add-ons. Now I'm playing the Royal Edition PS4 version on my PS5 and I've spent 31 hours over the past 3 days roaming around Eos with the boys.

31 hours in and I'm not even out of Chapter 3 yet (I *just* met up with Iris in Lestallum after doing literally everything I could possibly do all over the map before I was forced to progress the story) and the guys are all almost Level 50, because I slapped a Nixperience Band on Gladio and have been doing nothing but sidequests and hunts (just hit Hunter Level 5 - Slayer,) as well as pulling over every 30 feet to eradicate herds of local wildlife for funsies, then jetting off to Galdin Quay to reap the sweet, sweet double XP multiplier.

Ignis is and forever will be bae, and if you disagree, you're wrong and I'm sorry. Prompto is slightly less annoying now than he was back when I played the game the first time around, so I guess I've mellowed out in the past 5 years since I played this. I have noticed that he takes an inordinate amount of pictures of Gladio, even when I tell him to take pictures of Ignis.

I legit have no complaints about the game this go 'round, though I am sad that I won't get to do the Assassins or Chocomog Festivals since they were limited time events. I am finding that I'm not using the Royal Update bells and whistles (particularly switching combat control of party members,) that I did a lot of in my Xbone playthrough. However, I'm pretty sure the guys are OP af right now because I don't think it was intended for players to level up as much as I have so early on, as I definitely didn't do that in my first playthrough. For comparison - I ended the Xbone playthrough at 107 hrs over 15 chapters (not including post game dicking about) that also included wildlife genocide detours, whereas I'm already at 31 hours and I haven't even gotten out of Chapter 3 yet. I've already obtained Noctis' endgame weapon, the Ultima Blade, which, surprisingly, I'm not using as much as I thought I would be, since it seems like everything I'm killing is weak to polearms or two-handed swords.

 

WiiU still seems like a recent system to me, and the Switch seems like it just came out.

The warioware game on wiiu is really fun.

 

In my defense, clickbait journalists have been calling even the most minor underperformance with a Nintendo product as "THE DEATH OF NINTENDO!" because it draws in clicks from angry fanboys and obnoxious fanboys of other consoles, and they've been doing for it so long that I didn't even pay attention to the Wii U being a flop.
Plus, I still get to play a version of Tekken where the characters can fight each other as Mario characters.
