Obsessive commissioners and beggers

I thought that I would start a thread for the people without talent who are obsessed with specific pairings and/or their original fan characters. These people will commission various artists and writers and/or beg or request them to draw art work, and/or write stories about their favourite pairing and/or their original character.

Personally, I love these people when they are particularly obsessive, because often times they'll beg and commission for at least a couple of years on a near daily basis, so what will usually happen is that a few hundred pieces of art and fiction will be created in various styles for a specific pairing or original character, and it becomes kind of fun to track these pieces of art and fiction.

The first person I would like to talk about is Lexboss, who's OC Lexy Watterson appears almost as much as the main characters in fanfiction on The Amazing World Of Gumball archive on FF.Net. Her OC is also prevalent on Deviantart. She also has a thing for shipping Princess Celestia and Derpy, as well as various other pairings that I can't really remember at the moment. Essentially, when a person publishes a story on certain smaller archives, or posts certain pictures on Deviantart, she'll immediately contact that person and ask them to write or draw something for her. She's been doing this for years, and she'll likely continue to do so.

Another one that I want to bring attention to is Rally Flag, who I found while searching for Lexboss stuff. Essentially, like Lexboss, she has a thing for Princess Celestia. He (or she, I never bothered looking it up) will actually pay for a number of commissions (flash games, pictures, comics) of his/her OC Rally Flag, as well as the gender-swapped version Sky Tennant (who wears a playboy bunny outfit) being shipped with Principal Celestia (from the Equestria Girls series). It's kind of amusing, and it is also a lot easier to search for Rally Flag artwork than Lexboss artwork because, while Lexboss is actually incredibly varied with her requests and commissions, Rally Flag is ridiculously one-dimensional.

Yeah, but my computer was dying so I didn't post them. Really, you could type in both Lexboss and Rally Flag and you'd get more than enough pictures and stories. With Lexboss, there's literally hundreds of stories without counting the art, with Rally Flag there's much less but still quite a bit.

Togepi1125, who has a real "thing" for gay Fox McCloud/Falco Lombardi shipping and macrophilia. Since I like two of those four qualifiers, I run into the art he commissions a lot. Sometimes it seems like he must be spending $1,000 a month on this smut for how much of it comes out.

 

I remember stumbling onto to a deviantart account where one of the journals was complaining about how much gay communism smut people were commissioning them to draw. One would think communist wouldn't have money to spend on porn but the world always surprises.

Lol, part of the reason I made the thread was to see if you would show up and what you would say. I guess communists would have at least a little bit of money to spend on porn, in their idea of a perfect communist system at least.

 

If they're paying the artists and not just demanding free demos or samples they're pretty inoffensive.

 

I generally don't think that commissioners are that bad unless they beg, but there are request whores (people who ask and beg for free art in return for nothing) that are even worse.

 

Request whores might actually have been a better idea for a thread since it suits Lexboss and a number of other people a bit better. To be honest, I have no problem with them personally, but I find it interesting when these people spend years making requests and end up populating the internet with literally hundreds of requests they have had artists create.

On that note, I do remember a guy a few years ago who wrote a fanfiction story and commissioned a Palcomix picture for every chapter. I thought it was a good idea. Then I discovered that he commissions an image for every chapter in every story that he writes, which I imagine would get pretty expensive after a while. I sometimes wonder what these people do for a living that lets them afford these commissions.

 

Anyone remember Snapesnogger? She was fully capable of drawing her own "art" for her totally cool epic naga story, but when she got criticised for her gross snake porn creative endeavors she got lazy and started begging people to do it for her.
