    Then there's really no hope for him. If SONICHU, his beloved real imaginary friend who was always there for him when he was down in the dumps turns on him then he has absolutely nowhere to hide when reality comes a-knockin'. Plus it would be a telltale sign of extreme paranoia and mental instability if he distrusts his own imaginary creations.
