"IdeaGate" Megathread (Idea Guy's reveal and salt afterwards)

Adding to NAITCHA's point.

It seems like, with trolling, the intended reactions that are expected has changed in a major way too.

Trolls these days seem to think that *any* reaction means "LOLZ, I WINZ!"

Like, yeah, it's all well and good if you can get angry reactions from people, but I've honestly never subscribed to the theory that, if the reaction is mostly "lol, wow, this trolling sucks." that apparently translates to "ZOMG! YOU RESPONDED! THAT MEANS THE TROLL WORKED! LOL, U MAD BRO?"

Kind of sucks were were denied "CWC takes Manhattan" and a potential Captains Log where Chris details his confrontation with Cole.
What's particularly troubling though is how loose Chris' grip on reality is. Admittedly he's never been the most stable guy but the fact that he bought into this stuff so readily is nuts.

Just the image of him standing outside a GameStop shouting "NEPTUNE!" over and over again.
He probably looked like an insane homeless person.

 

So in summary, the exceptional belief that "cartoons are real in another dimension" was exploited to troll a mentally challenged person for unfunny content.

 

Yeah, with the added bit of information that he actually gave the mentally challenged person good advice at one point. Granted, the advice was "It's a bad idea to touch that poop, so keep on peeing your pants and posting the pictures online," but good advice nonetheless.

 

Yknow there's something that smells off about this whole thing. It's well documented that Null at the very least used to peep into peoples PMs on his site.

He really doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would just 'turn off' a plugin like that. So... what the hell? Apparently, Ideas Man probed his cocks not just to people like Marvin or Alec but to reletive nobodies. My tinfoil hat is on tight - I smell some kind of weird ass conspiracy style coverup that involves the Illuminati, The Real Lizard Squad and Crab People.

On point: I get the feeling that there's a hell of a lot more going on then any of us can piece together. Unfortunetly, I am unable to go deep and discover the nature of this conspiracy for myself.

So I’ve had a long week and haven’t been around to post, and of course it’s the week that IG finally gets discovered.
Piggybacking off what @Uncle Frank and a few others have said, the reaction to IG’s unmasking is way more entertaining than what he was doing.
Kiwi Farms as a whole.
Kiwi Farms is a cannibalistic island of autism where the worst kept secret is that the owner reads PMs, so I’m surprised IG left such a proverbial paper trail. He should have backed down once he realized he wasn’t going to be the next Clyde Cash.
I’m not surprised IG was a kiwi, I’m surprised that in that environment you didn’t think to keep your head down. Hell, Dyn will dox another user because he was asked to by anyone. If he was trolling Chris, he did ok. If he was trying to troll KF, it backfired because his dox is out. I’m honestly not sure what he was expecting. Sure, he pissed off Kiwis and clubbers, but was it worth it? I say no.

You gotta know when to hold them, and know when to fold them. If you’re gonna troll Chris, I guess go rogue.
Marvin (and AM I guess)
Marvin mentioned that he basically knows everything when it comes to trolls/weens, admitting that most go directly to him. Though I think Catherine and Idea Guy were shitty troll plots, I think it’d be hypocritical of Marvin to say “You can’t troll Chris.” because that basically ends with “Only I can.”
Null
In the thread discussing closing down the CWC forum, Null basically said it’s going to be an anarchy with no rules because he’s given up. So in a forum that survived the house fire, Dstecks donationgate, learning that a member was going through his trash, Catherine, an asshole piercing, threats to kill the president, this is the thing that makes Null throw his hands up? I can’t believe that it’s this big a surprise that IG was a Kiwi.

TLDR, IGgate is the funniest thing to happen to Kiwi Farms.

I like that, IGGate. Idea Guy's legacy won't be that he trolled Chris, it will be what he did to KF.

 

The big question that's in my mind is how Chris is going to approach the comic after this. Is he going pretend like none of this happened? That would the most thing so probably not. Is he going to try and find a some way of retconning it though some bullshit plot devise? Maybe, he has done it before. Is he going to abandon the comic? Most likely not but it may be a few months before we see another update. Or is he going to just roll with it? This last one particularly interests me because despite how dumb the Idea guy saga (if you want to call it that) is you have to admit it has gotten Chris to really fuck with his character's. I'm just curious what this all is doing to Chris psychologically and more over what this means for the future.

Jackie's weird rat OC was named Vulva because Chris didn't know what it meant at the time. Chris didn't change it because to him, it was already "real" in his head.

 

Remember the Robbie subplot in the new Sonichus, where he was dating a bunny thing called Vulva Pie? That was Jackie’s character. Chris drew it and included it in the story YEARS after Jackie was a) no longer his sweetheart and b) outed as a troll. We didn’t get the full story, but we got a piece of the Vulva Pie.
My hypothesis is that Chris is lazy for plots and will use one no matter if it was troll or not, because it’s one less plot to come up with. Chris won’t use all of it, just the parts that’s Chris/Sonichu friendly. Remember, Jackie wanted a forgiveness parade for Alec. We got a parade, but it wasn’t for forgiveness.
Or like @Spork said, because it was mentioned as a Sonichu character, it’s real in the alternate reality, and Chris won’t kill an innocent character because their creator was a troll. Sins of the father and blah blah blah.
I predict we will see Gamindustri, the goddesses, Sylvana’s capture, and Russians. We will not see Graduon’s truce, death rehabilitation camps, or the Punchy riots. That’s just my guess.
What I would like to know is if Chris has found out that IG was a troll pretending to be Sonichu characters for cheap laughs yet.
