Yeah. Marvin and LoveYouLongTime tried to get Chris to go a few years back. But Chris failed to book a room due to being broke and planned to sleep in his car. When he told Barb, she prevented him from going by saying she'd lock him out of 14BC and laying on guilt trips (saying she wanted to die).

 

i remember, and it surprised me that Barb reacted so strongly since its really not that far compared to his ohio trip. Since Barb didn't give a shit about his bronycon trip, she may not care if he takes off for MagFest.

Wow that awful ween actually managed to troll Chris.

 

Read 'barb's' tweet with gilbert gottfried's voice. that's the most entertaining thing that's been related to chris this month.

 

The Ohio trip spooked the shit out of Bob and Barb. Chris had never driven more than fifty miles outside of Charlottesville before and they were worried he'd get himself killed somehow, and that was after he suddenly vanished on them early in the morning and they didn't find a note (Chris claims he left a note and a map of his planned route).

If I recall correctly, he told Bob and Barb that he'd sleep in the car, figuring that they'd be concerned than if he was sharing a room with possible trolls. It's far more likely that Bob and Barb were worried about Chris sleeping in his car in a parking lot in the city with the fifth highest crime rate in the US than anything else at that point.

Nowadays, Bob is dead and Barb doesn't have the energy to fight Chris anymore. I think eyewitnesses at Bronycon mentioned that he was periodically calling home to check in with Barb, so it seems like they've worked out a compromise.

 

I hadn't heard about him phoning home. if this part is true, then I have to say its the most 'responsible' thing chris has done in since his job at CutCo
