FB 2/18 - Countdown to 35th birthday

Chris original got $800 a month, and when Bob died it was increased to over $1200, it would seem likely that he would get another increase if Barb died, but I don't think it would be as significant.

 

@Marvin said Chris can pay the bills though. It's saving money that's the problem, given the CWCish tendency to "blow tugboat" on toys and vidya.

 

Exactly, Chris has a lot more power in 14BC then he realises, I would even say that he has more or less been in charge of the bills for the last year or so and he knows what has to be paid, the problem arises when there is an unexpected bill, such as a demand from Barbs creditors, thats when things go very badly because Chris and Barb do not save, they are living month to month at best.

 

He could live there fairly inexpensively if he pulled it together and had a Rummage Sale Saga after Barb goes.

I wonder how much Barb keeps him from meeting people. Her behavior sounds like she'd not want him hanging out with other people.

 

Chris gets out a lot more then people think, he can stand up to Barb on some things(like all the tranny stuff)

 

It was somewhere around the time Jackie tried to suggest that Chris could come to a convention in DC with her friends.

Unfortunately, Chris tried to allay any worries his parents might have by telling them that he planned on sleeping in his car or the hotel lobby (I forget if it was to save money or to convince them he wasn't sharing a room with a woman). Bob and Barb flipped out because they (understandably) didn't like the idea of Chris sleeping in his car in a city with the fifth highest crime rate in the country, especially after Chris went to Ohio that one time.

Bob and Barb threatened to change the locks on him and generally acted like he was leaving the nest forever instead of driving a few hours away to spend a day or two with friends in DC. They pulled some sort of good cop bad cop routine where Bob guilt tripped Chris into thinking their family would collapse on itself if any of them left for too long and implied that Chris might get shot over a misunderstanding with police due to being "psychologically matched" to some shooter in Arizona. Bob then told Chris that Barb was threatening to leave them over it.

Barb, meanwhile, just sobbed crocodile tears and said that they could "just burry me in what I have on".

Chris broke down, called off the trip, and Barb paid for half the price of some PS3 game as compensation.

 

True, but what if he wanted to hang out or something not at the Horde? Would she throw a fit?

 

Marvin says he goes to other peoples houses to hang out and play games, he has to check in a lot with Barb on his cellphone though.

 

Do we have any concrete evidence that he still thinks Crystal will happen?

 

He tried to donate sperm and complained when the bank rejected him because autism, so now he's improvising with his own freezer. He also fell for a pair of "lesbians" who wanted a kid (Chris wanted visitation rights). In the comic, he came up with a brain-meltingly stupid explaination that involved artificially inseminating himself with his own genetic material.

It's safe to say that he thinks he needs to make Crystal somehow before getting any sort of operation.

 

It's Crystal-clear that his dream of siring a girl has long ago been shattered.

The real problem that Chris could face after Barb dies is her debt coming back to bite him in the ass. Marvin has said on numerous occasions that Barb has amassed quite a sizeable amount of debt because she knows she's not going to be alive much longer and doesn't give a shit that Chris would be burdened with it after her death.

 

The way the "Tugboat" works is that a child can only draw off of one parent. When Barb passes on the income will stay the same.

 

It is not just in the comics. Why do you think he was so insistent that binaric beats placef up a video that transform testes into ovaries

 

People are so quick to think that Chris will be the catalyst behind the probable Homeless Saga, but Barb is the real enemy here.

I think he real crux of the matter will be Barbs life insurance(if she still has any). If the insurance policy names Chris as the beneficiary then he will get that money and no-one will be able to make a claim on it, but if it goes to the estate, then Barbs debtors will be able to get a piece of it and Chris will be left with next to nothing.

 

When Barb dies Chris will be fine. His half siblings hate her, not Chris.
