3/14/16: Barb is being sued over credit card debt

I still stand by my belief that she will outlive Chris out of spite.

 

Barb lost and was ordered to pay damages of $4,700 plus $60 in court costs.

Barb has probably been dead for the past 6 months and Chris has been pretending to be her on the phone.

 

I figure it's probably like a Norman Bates kinda deal. Barb is dead, but Chris has full conversations with her corpse and wears her clothes on occasion.

God help the next gal pal who tries to shower in that house...

 

I heard she went, I would imagine she pulled the "I'm poor, old and pitiful" shtick to win the sympathy of the court if she did.

 

I assumed that's what she was going to do, since trying "to ignore and hope it goes away" is how Barb probably reached the lawsuit stage to begin with. But it says "judgement," whereas usually it says "default judgement" if the defendent just don't show up. (That possibly could be subject to jurisdiction, though.)

What's funny to me is that she didn't sign a consent judgement praecipe (essentially a "plea pargain" where she agrees to a judgement against her in return for a more favorable payment schedule, or a reduced debt, etc.). This is almost always offered in order to head off further legal fees for the plaintiff and induce the defendant to just pay. I wish I had gone to the trial now because it looks like she rebuked any attempt to settle (NO HAGGLE) and argued to the judge without any success whatsoever. Soo Chandler!

 

Well shit, looks like maintaining a good sized hoard can be pretty expensive.

Maybe someone should tell Barb about Freecycle.

 

I wonder whether she will get a fleshlight for Chris
