When did you discover Chris?

We've had threads before about how people discovered Chris, but I don't think I've seen one about when people discovered Chris. What point was Chris at when you found him? Did you find him when he was first starting out or during a drought in content? Did you come in during any ongoing sagas or when there was a lull in trolling activity? How did this impact on your enjoyment of observing him?

Personally, I found Chris circa October 2013. There'd been a substantial content drought for a while at this point so this might sound like a bad time to discover him, but shortly afterwards he released the Lego High School video, then Alec Benson Leary leaked the second House Tour video and then in January 2014 we had the House Fire. So it was actually quite a good time to discover Chris.

So when did everyone else find him?

 

I found Chris in October 2016, right before Trump shit hit the fan.

 

When his ED page was all over 4chan. I think that was 2007.

 

Early 2014, just after the house fire.

I had known about Chris before that, after someone story-timed a Sonichu comic on /co/. I read a few pages on the CWCki (mostly about the comic) but got bored and left. I think it was several months later when I saw a bunch of threads pop up about how the Sonichu guy's house got burned down. I went back to the CWCki and started reading the articles about his life and was hooked.

I got to see the Business and Financhu Crisis sagas from the beginning, which are my favorites.

 

When Ifound an article on him in a now defunct wiki devoted to sammyclassicsonicfan. I looked into chris more when a friend mentioned fatty

 

I first heard about him in December 2014. A few days after the "Don't call anybody!" Incident. I was looking up bad sonic fan art for shit and giggles when I found a comment section for one of the pics mentioned Chris-chan. Curiosity got the best of me and I found the cwicki and have become fascinated with his antics. He's essentially a living breathing caricature of bad sonic fan art.

 

I don't remember the year, but it was during the Asperchu arc. I arrived just in time to catch some of the best phone conversations with chris since the Father call.

 

I discovered him In Early 2011 when I saw this video which was a compilation of all his autistic antics and I was amazed.

 

Late 2011 or maybe early 2012, I can't exactly remember. It was right after Bob died and the trolls stopped giving a shit and fucked off for the most part. Hell, I remember most of my early days of knowing about Chris were in his infamous 2012 dry spell in which literally the only things of note to happen were the Snyder trial and Chris losing his virginity to a hooker. That gave me plenty of time to brush up on the CWCki before he started making videos again.

Oddly enough, while I occasionally lurked the Kiwi Farms, I never posted there or had an account. Hell, the day I was going to sign up was the day it closed.

 

After he started with the whole tomgirl mumbo jumbo, but at least a year before the house fire.
Can't remember how I found about him though but I remember first time I heard about him I found it weird that some random dude had an entire wiki dedicated to his life, but when some time later I started to browse the cwcki I realized how crazy the whole thing was.
Funnily, I didn't find out about his tomgirl adventures until later on, so it was almost as much of a surprise as it must have been for those that had been following him for a longer time.

 

Around Thanksgiving 2010

 

My brother who used to follow Encyclopedia Dramatica. He showed me the site and the Chris-Chan article back in 2008.

 

Mentioned it before, but I'm pretty sure it was a year into the Tomgirl Saga during the dry spell, so about 2012-ish, I'm guessing. It might've been sooner, but only in passing.

 

Fall of 2008. I was dicking around on ED and found his page, then fell deep down the rabbit hole. I never made it out.

 

I saw a reference to "Chris Chan" sometime before 2010 and I remember thinking to myself "why does he use an honorific normally used for women and children?" But I think I actually became aware of Chris somewhere around 2011-2012ish too, after Bob passed away. It was through the CWCki.

Had I been interested enough to check out that reference, I could've learned about Chris back when he was "Classic Chris," instead of during the post-Bob "tomgirl" dry spell. At least I was able to see the aftermath of the October incident in "realtime" -- especially when @Cyan posted an account of the trial.

 

I found out about him in late 2015 through a friend of mine. We were listening to the Weeaboo song for some reason, and the picture of Chris attempting to flex showed up on the screen. I asked him who Chris was after he started laughing his ass off, and he pulled up the CWCki for me to read. My interest was piqued, and I read like 20 more wiki pages when I got home.

I didn't find Kiwi Farms until a few months afterward, lurked as a guest for a while before making an account. I wasn't a huge contributor, only like 10 messages or so. I didn't understand the enigma that is Chris, still don't to be honest. It's just nice to read threads on here and actually learn something.

 

i found him shortly before the house fire. A friend told me about a youtuber callled Brendanial doing a reading of Sonic high school. The same guy was doing a dramatic reading of Sonichu so i clicked on it. I googled Chris wondering if he had done anything else. I found the CWCki and was morbidly fascinated by both Chris and the detail the CWCki captured Chris's life.

 

I first read about him in 2007 via SomethingAwful. Then along came a link to the ED page. I was fascinated by this person, as he and I actually very close in age and share a common trait: coming from old stock (though not as old as Bob's stock was). Watched the "Future Message" video and just followed everything possible about him in a morbidly curious way. I fell into deep after that and just watched and read ever since, growing more fascinated as he "blossomed" into what he is today.

Been a member of as many forums as I can remember, starting back at 110mb's hosting and following however I could. Lurked the farms with an account to read everything I could, browse the CWCki at least weekly.

Kinda funny and sad how morbid curiosity became near obsession.
