Twitter 8/27 - Chris wants everyone to be a manchild like him

Fair points Mr. Flair, but the attitude on display here by Chris is something which is going to make anyone who meets the basic standards of adulthood feel some degree of rage. I think it's completely fair to acknowledge it's legitimate to criticize the opinion expressed here and indulge some rhetorical flourishes just as it's fair to acknowledge that it's not a legendary accomplishment to "out adult" Chris.

I would point out that what Chris is showing here is a classic example of game theory where an individual acting rationally results in a worse overall outcome for himself and everyone else and a failure to think beyond his immediate benefit. To be less obtuse about it, the problem with Chris' philosophy is that a world of Chrises would not work, who would pay for all the tugboats?

But to be fair to Chris, there are entire social and political movements who either have or have been accused of having similar attitudes and most of them are very vocal on these here interwebz. Given how much time Chris spends online and how little original thought he has with regard to many of his personal ideas and beliefs, it's not surprising he would ape the worst tendencies of those he is imitating including this attitude on display here.

That's why I do think this is interesting, Chris has developed to the point where he is not only making waves in internet culture, but he is now starting to imitate specific enclaves of internet thought. I think it's worth exploring how he comes to these attitudes and how he chooses who to imitate myself, but I'm very autistic about this whole Chris-chan thing as its own social phenomena.

Yes, we all have jobs and can live on our own and aren't Chris. But, let's be clear,
You/I/We are not Chris. Chris is not you/me/us.
No shit Chris can't "adult," because his childhood didn't have basic responsibilities, he's never mentioned chores and after Wendy's he was never pressured to get another job. His inability to adult is his parents fault. Sure, Bob tried, but he gave up.
I've heard that age 26 is the age you stop developing personality and is when your brain finally stops "growing", basically who you are at 26 socially/politically/maturity wise is who you are for the rest of your life. Chris at 26 didn't need to work because he was being taken care of. He didn't do housework because Barb wouldn't allow him to clean the hoard. He didn't worry about money because Bob was still alive. I'm willing to bet everyone over 26 reading this has had jobs, worried about bills, knew to keep their living space clean, and other "adulting" at that time. Chris was 29 when Bob's gravy train stopped rolling, he was too old to learn the value of responsibilities and too autistic to change.
The sad reality is Chris is too far gone to do this 180 and fix his life, he's going to spend his life begging or in the corrections system.
So next time you wish to utter "Getta jawb" or "I do [x]," remember a mix of autism and less than stellar parenting makes that basically impossible for Chris, because Chris didn't have what you had. Privilege, checked.

"Get a job," is probably the most annoying thing about the Chris community, I'll gladly laugh about Chris's misadventures in pussyland and deconstructing Sonichu, but "get a job," yeah no.

Nope! Undergraduate degree is mathematics and post graduate degree is professional. I do listen to some occassional lectures on psychology but I ever had it in any school.

I do agree it's patently unrealistic to expect Chris to suddenly blossom into a functional adult after all this time.

However while Chris clearly, and I stress clearly, had disadvantages most people don't have, he has had ample opportunity to improve or seek to improve himself and has professed the desire multiple times, but never follows up on it. I think that's perfectly fair to comment on, it's one of his most remarkable and consistent traits.

Furthermore it is dehumanizing to deny that Chris has the ability to make changes in his life and it is insane to think he cannot change if he genuinely wants to.

That's hard to articulate however, and the internet tends to communicate in a curiously nuanced way which loves a bit of crudeness, so what you see is "Get a job fatty".

 

Ive yelled at Chris plenty of times on twitter because his behavior is outrageous the way he creeps in on womens personal space and makes a whole mockery of the lgbt communtiy. Transwomen have it bad enough and chris is like a walking stereo type. Im prolly gonna block him on twitter because im just coming off as an angry cunt anymore. I see his predator behavior and it pisses me off. He gets a free pass on every thing in life and this is that one case where he really shouldnt.

 

Its as much a question of philosophy as it is psychology to ask if Chris can or can't change.

However its important to acknowledge that Chris would have to try really hard to get a job in this economy or really most economies. Chris has been unemployed and on welfare for far too long for most people to consider hiring him. With all of Chris's obvious eccentricities it makes his chances of getting hired non-existent, especially in Charlotsville where every business is on edge about hiring someone who might snap. No one is going to take a chance on a person with no skills and a history of unemployment that long if they have any better candidates.

So unless ADF leads us to a glorious communist revolution, I think getting a job will be out of the question for Chris.

 

Agreed, I just hate seeing his predator behavior. As a woman it sickens me that he thinks its totally fine. Or how he thinks being a woman is making sonichu a sandwich or how women dont have jobs and are taken care of. ect

That has been my gripe with him calling himself a "transgender lesbian" or "tomgirl" as well as him considering himself part of the lgbt community. He acts like a stereotype and I worry he will be discovered by republicans and be their excuse to pass discriminatory measures against actual people in that community.

 

You are granting Chris way too much influence. No politician who wants to keep their career is going to point to Chris as their motivation for passing legislation. It's the same reason that Sega and Nintendo will never issue a cease and desist notice for Sonichu. No one that powerful wants to be perceived as picking on someone who is retarded.
