Rolex 24 hour race starts tomorrow. Spoiler: a bunch of wealthy rednecks camping in Daytona's center field on Sunday hungover as shit and still listening to the cars drive around them.

Superbowl is on the fifth. Spoiler: Pittsburg is still only one ring ahead of everyone instead of two. The commercials will be amazing.

And that's the extent of my sports knowledge. Get excited about or make fun of sports on TV.

 

I convinced my girlfriend that I knew who was going to win the college football national championship game and she decided to make a wager online based on my explanation the night of the game.

Of course she won and more than doubled her money on the money-line so now I've been betting NHL and college basketball games every night since then with the winnings even though I have little to no working knowledge of good betting strategies in those two leagues. I love betting underdogs at home in the NHL and betting by periods, teams to score in all, to win all, total goals in the game/period, who will have more points in the game, shot total over/under props, will player X score a goal in the game. Basketball games I parley the point totals and the spreads unless there's live betting then I go for player props before tip off as well. I'd say I'm doing this on mostly hunches unlike the initial football game win that I based on watching the playoffs and several games during the season between the principles informing my decision to back the underdog confidently. I don't gamble enough to lose on any one event to make it hurt though, just enough to remind me it's called gambling and not investing for a reason.

Anyway, the goal total overs for Washington Captials games have been very, very good to me these last couple of weeks.
