    Right, and I'm no more confident about it than you are. I think the most likely kind of character development would be along the lines of "This character is getting stronger and stronger", or in this case faster and faster. It's very shallow, yes, and can only come around by giving Rob-o a run for his money, but it's something. I can dream, right?
