Chris lives in a small town......in a red state. In those parts of the country, anything to the left of hunting the homeless for sport is considered communism. I highly doubt they have any kind of felon rehabilitation programs. States like thus thrive off of slave labor the prison-industrial complex, and making sure first-time offenders become repeat offenders is a huge part of it.

 

I think the Charlottesville area is more left than really rural Virginia though.

There's a "pride fest" that Chris went to, and that Impulse Gay Social Club too.

 

Makes sense given that it's a university town.

However, the programs you mentioned are the responsibility of the state and are probably quite lacking.

 

Side note: Woke =/= left.

But to solidify JudgeSaturn's point, most spcial programs are through the state. Considering how even centrist-right parties like the Democrats barely put any effort into social programs, Chris definitely won't get any help in a red state.

I don't feel bad for him if that happens (though a tiny part of me wonders if this was, at the very least, sped up by the Idea Guys), but in the interest of viewing Christory in a somewhat factual way we should mention these things.

 

Is the next court date still scheduled for what it was before: sometime in July?

Or has it been indefinitely delayed or even cancelled because Chris is in a mental institution?

 

I would imagine it's been delayed. A big part of his time in the mental institution will be served trying to:

A) Determine if he is legally able to stand trial, or

B) Get him rehabilitated enough to stand trial if he is found unable.

 

Interesting wrinkle: Chris, I believe, could stand to be released from jail (conditionally, of course) if no trial occurs within one year of being charged with a misdemeanor. Does being confined to a hospital affect that timeline?

 

It depends if chris is classified as a patent or as an inmate.

 

Chris is such a lolcow that even the way he goes through the legal system seems to be a lolcow.

A trespassing incident results in him getting months of continuances and put on a "therapeutic docket". Incest with an elderly parent (something likely only a lolcow would do) results in him getting continuances and then vanishing to who-knows-where. Vanishing after a stay in a jail that involves solitary confinement (not even in prison) and losing access to the rec room.

 

Chris was likely on the therapeutic docket/court diversion program because he was mentally ill or autistic

Even in jail Chris is getting banned from places.

 

Chris doesn't really get along with Homo sapiens that well.

Looks like he also doesn't get along with cats well either.

 

I was going to replace homo sapiens and cats with something sarcastic and witty.

After 10 minutes of coming up with more and more things to put into a list, my brain hurts.

 

I think that may be one of the most fascinating things about Chris that doesn't get discussed enough: the way that the normal, non-internet world interacts with him borders on deus ex machina. We expect powers-that-be controlling his world from the internet, but even the normie world seems to bend to his will at times.

 

Chris kept winding up in the news and other mainstream media too.

 

Since his arrest, chris' life has become a bit like a where's waldo book.

Bending to Chris's will, or the extent to which the Chandlers have managed to slip through every crack defies precedent.

 

It's so crazy how quiet things have been but I do genuinely hope that motherfucker ( quite literally ) is getting some mental help and is out of the public eye.

 

After the trial it’s going to be very quiet for a very long time, probably. Weens will send Chris letters and Barb will die and that’s about all.
