How did we get here?

OK, so it's a generally accepted fact that Classic Chris is gone and never coming back. Golden age is over, yadda yadda yadda, replaced by an obese tomgirl with a laughingly terrible falsetto.
But the question is, when did the classic age end? The coming out as 'tomgirl', for one, but what else?
What are the events that ended the Golden Age of Lulz and brought us to this?

Bob dying? Maybe the Bluespike thing was the beginning of the end, because there was nowhere anyone wanted to go after that, and everything else afterward felt like a step down from what was arguably the peak of Chris trolling.

 

I think when Bob died and the organised trolling stopped, that was the end of "Classic" Chris. Everything he does now is tinged with depression from losing Bob, being trapped with Barb, having no real future, etc. Classic Chris was some autistic guy who lived at home and had everything provided for him and no real worries. Now Chris is all about the stress and worries and hippopotamus weights on his head, and it is more tragic than funny.

 

Classic Chris is everything up to Bob's death and the resulting hiatus. That's the general consensus.

 

Bob's death, the ditching of "The Classic" and the medallion (although the latter is back), and of course, "Tomgirl."

 

To be technical, I think Bob's death was pretty much the end of what you would consider *organized* plans to troll Chris.

From that point forward, most of Chris' material came from him starting it, not trolls initiating it.

 

Organized plans to troll Chris still existed, they were just much less successful as Chris became more difficult to troll, and I think most just gave up trying in favor of the other lolcows that continually pop up, yet rarely (if ever) reach the same level of notoriety as Chris.

I mean, you just have to look at the Catherine saga to see that trolling plans still exist. To be honest, I think that there are trolling plans being enacted all the time against Chris, we just don't see or hear about most of them.

 

Let me retract then

After Bob's death, most of the good, non-weenish stuff quieted down.

 

I always found the Catharine saga a little weird. There hasn't really been anything on that scale since, everything seems to be much smaller, like the Johann videos. Chris seems not to interact as much with new people online, preferring irl friends, which probably limits trolling opportunities.

 

The fire, to me, is the final nail in the coffin for the classic chris.

At this point chris started to realize that the world is a cruel place and if you put up a pitiful enough face, people will give you money.

 

Part of what interested me about Chris was half him and half his troll orbiters. Why would people go to such convoluted lengths to troll someone, anyone? Part of made classic CWC was the dark, obsessive trolling. What have we got now? Paying cwc $1500 for the totem. Its so sad. Modern cwc's got modern trolls and they either tryhards or just pain dumb.

I know I'm the in minority when I say fabricating Chris's reality for years fucked his headspace just as much as Borb did but I think I'm right. There can't be a Classic Chris anymore partly because he's too jaded by shit trolling and thinks everything is fabricated.

 

I would say that Clyde Cash leaving was the true end of Classic Chris. Superman had Lex Luthor. Captain America had Red Skull. Thor had Loki. Clyde was that arch-nemesis that defined the ultimate roadblock to Chris's Love Quest (other than Chris himself). I mean, if younlisten to some of the Mumble calls, it feels like incredibly autistic comic book banter between the hero and villain. After that, the quality of "villains" got worse and worse.

 

AND YOU MAY ASK YOURSELVES "WELL, HOW DID WE GET HERE?"

 

Is cris getting classicer ?

I guess when it comes to trolling chris nowadays, it's not quite the SAME AS IT EVER WAS

 

When Chris finally commits suicide because of the trolling YOU MAY ASK YOURSELF "MY GOD, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!"

 

I think the classic age ended when the trolls and weens became more insane than Chris.
