More like Chris misses having someone else take care of Barb so he could search for China unimpeded.

I think thats a little unfair and cruel, when Chris was recorded crying about Bobs death, it wasn't because he now had to look after Barb, that wasn't a realisation he made for a very long time, he was crying because his dad had died.

I'll also add that about 2/3rds of it would be people either making Bob to be some kind of saint for putting up with the crazy sea witch and his mother, and the others vilifying him because he was a crotchety old fuck and should have sent Chris off to Special School for Special Someones so he could have grown up to be adequate and we'd probably never even learn about him in the first place as he held down a minimum wage job as a Wendy's part-timer.

Fact is this - like him or hate him (because that's obviously a healthy thing to do, hating people who have absolutely no bearing on your own life), Bob died. Chris can mourn is his own abjectly goofy way because he does everything in his goofy way, and no doubt in less than 24 hours, Ruckersville's Finest will be back to spouting off about plastic toys and glorifying Hilldog's China.

    RIP Bob.

I think I just realised that this is my favourite thing about Chris. Whether it's wilful or not, I don't know, but it seems impossible for him to pay the slightest bit of attention to instructions. Even when he tries.

You could offer Chris a thousand bucks to take a photo of a bird and he would send you a few snaps of the ground and, if you're lucky, the KFC logo.

I think because Chris's autism he's able in this case to be a bit more honest about a loss, I truly feel he misses his father as a father, (but not a person I don't think Chris is mature enough to have an adult relationship outside of parent child with his folks) but also as what he could do. Now I'm blessed enough to have my parents alive and well but putting myself in those shoes and with Chris's mind set, I'm gonna miss my folks and home cooked meals for example.

Chris in this case is blunt enough to show off, I'm going to miss what I got done/bought/given to me from Bob. But also he misses Bob being Dad.

In regards to the blown following instructions, I think to me at least it's Chris feeling he's entitled to do what he wants but in this case honestly missing his father he some how thought this would be more respectful.

One thing that always made me the saddest about Bob was his morning breakfast at Burger King. Old people tend to love their habits, but for Bob the knock off Micky D's for an hour before Blob or Chris could be bothered to get out of bed his shitty cup of coffee and little sandwich was probably the only peace he had in his life anymore. Knowing your time is winding down on this mortal coil, you gotta take another sip of java and go back to face the hoard and your son jacking off in a dress and that's the best escape you can manage.

In no way to be A-log but out of respect for Bob, even with all his faults, I'm happy he's gone, I'm sure Bob is too. RIP Bob. You dealt with more autism in one day than the entire run of kiwifarms.

I get the impression that Bob was more functional in Chris's early years, but later on he ended up letting himself be pussy whipped by his awful wife and just gave up and complied with everything she and Chris demanded.

In the prank phone call by a troll pretending to be a Game Place employee Bob was just rambling along repeating everything that Barb had more or less been saying (e.x. about Mike and Megan masterminding the trolling), and following along with her demands to 'get the employee's number' and all that.

I have a feeling that Barb has an abnormal attachment to Chris and just views him as someone she can control, and is in denial about how much of a fuck-up he is; likely she's the one who put the myth into his head that Megan was collaborating with the ED trolls, probably because she was jealous of him being more attached to a woman other than her, a la Norman Bates' mom.

    He had every right to.

    Or Chris. :crash:

I want to believe that's what did him in.

I'm speaking to today. At THAT moment in time, I think Chris was as sad as he could be, but as for missing him today, I don't believe that he misses Bob's presence, just the freedom that he was afforded while Bob continued to draw breath.

I hate this revisionist history where Bob was even remotely a "good" parent, this good cop bad cop pare talk situation has been discussed outside of here often. He wasn't. He only stepped in when he had something to lose or gain and only gave a shit then, otherwise he was just as bad as Barb for Chris and his behavior issues. Fuck him, I'm glad he's dead and I can't wait for Grandma Snorlax to follow him to the grave.

Hmmm, maybe. I do think you are right that Chris would dearly LOVE someone to take over care of Barb, whether or not Barb would let that happen, is another thing.

On the CWCWiki it says that Bob spent time with Chris when he was very young designing things with him in a shed on their property and trying to encourage his creativity; I think it was probably some time during Chris' adolescence where he just gave up and let Chris and Barb do whatever they wanted.

The Grim Reaper trolling Chris in that dream with the wrong expiration date on his father just got him further down through the stages of grief with a head start that's beneficial to him in the long run than he would have had if it'd been a HONEST and TRUE premonition that night and they got the extra birthdays out of Bob instead.

Fired from Wendy's was the point I have it pegged to, but I agree with your detective work here.

I would think he did all he could with Chris when he was still a pre-teen and just started learning to talk after age 7.

Yeah, Bob did give up on Chris eventually, but only after it became obvious that Chris was a lost cause. Presumably after either Wendy's or him getting kicked out of PVCC, prior to Chris graduating, Bob seemed to legitimately care for his son in his own inept way. Even the tugboat was set up by Bob so Chris could have some semblance of a safety net when it became obvious that Chris wasn't getting any better.

Getting Chris on social security was probably the smartest thing Bob ever did. I wonder if Bob had managed to reconcile with David and Carol, if things might of been different for Chris. Lol, who am I kidding? I doubt David and Carol would want anything to do with Chris once Bob died, mainly due to one salient fact: Chris is Chris, and he is his own worse enemy.

I suppose Bob should still share some blame for not divorcing that nagging cow and taking full legal guardianship over Chris, but I think it's apparent Bob started off as at least trying to help his son get better, and that Barb is primarily responsible for coddling him and enabling him to live like he does.

Bob was already getting on when he married Barb, do you think he had the energy or will power to: start over again, all on his own, with his autistic son who didn't speak for the first 6 years of his life? Bob had nowhere to go...... well..... he always had Burger King, didn't he?

To be fair, if still don't have any info on his other 2 kids, or if they haven't ever become lolcows themselves. Then bob succeeded with them, at least better then chris.
Chris shouldn't be the only legacy he left behind.

Can Alan and Carol be considered a legacy when Bob had so little to do with them? I would credit their mother before I credited Bob.
