ebay 3/27 - Gameboy w/ Tetris

I wonder how much it costs to replace a gameboy screen. It’s either ridiculous or a lot cheaper/easier than I imagine.

 

It's cheaper and easier than you'd think. It's one of those old electronic things things that all require the same type of maintenance and the same part(s) once they reach a certain age. My dad collects pinball machines for instance, and we discovered that every Bally machine requires some specific replacement parts (and a new coat of paint in some areas) because the machines were only built to last for a couple of years in an arcade, not be played 20-30 years later in a basement rec room. However, because every machine requires the same parts, and there are people with the money to buy these machines and the passion to keep them running, inevitably some people realized that they could make some decent money selling the parts these people need to be able to enjoy their machines.

 

They aren't expensive, its just a big pain in the ass to swap. They're like 3-9 bucks.
